FOTD: Chanel Eyes and NYX Lips

The other day, I got dolled up for no particular reason. I was at home the whole day and didn't really go anywhere, but still wanted to look pretty. I woke up early, took a shower, had a light breakfast, then did my makeup and hair, wore my favorite dress ever and cleaned and organized the house...What a day lol.

I did a neutral eye makeup using my Chanel eye shadow quad in Winter Nights $56. It's actually my very first eye shadow palette and I rediscovered how much I love it. It consist of 4 neutral shades: taupe (crease), light pink (lids) light peach (highligh) and black with gold specs (definer), and can be used to create day and night makeup. The shadows are soft and silky and the shimmers in it are so fine that it gives a nice sheen on the eyes , especially when the sun light hits it. So gorgeous!

This is not my photo. I got it from google. My quad is so old and beat up that I'm a bit embarrassed to post a photo O_o.

I applied a light pink eye liner on my water line to make my eyes look bigger.
I used Benefit Eye Bright $20. You can buy it here.

I used Milani Mineral blush in Mai Tai $6.49 for my cheeks. Buy it HERE. I've been reaching for this blush a lot lately. Its a gorgeous bright coral. For my lips, I used NYX round lipstick in Paris $1.99. Buy it HERE. It's a pale pink with purple undertone. I haven't used this lipstick much because I think it's too light for my skin tone, but I managed to make it work buy adding E.L.F. Minty lip gloss in Los Angeles $3.00, which is sheer fuschia. It tones down the paleness of the lipstick. Buy it HERE.

FOTD: False Lashes and Purple lips

As many of you know, I caught the flu and it was making my life miserable. For days, I wasn't able to breathe right and I was coughing like I was gonna throw up...yuck! It was weak, helpless and ugly lol. But thank goodness I'm all better now, and I can go on with my life ^_^

Today, I was able to go out with Kiko and for the first time in forever, I was able to put a full face makeup on. I'm telling you, It was the best feeling ever! I just feel more confident and more beautiful with makeup. ^_^

For my makeup, I initially planned on something dramatic, like smoky eyes with pinky nude lips. But as soon as I sat on my little makeup station, I quickly changed my mind and ended up with a simple and soft neutral eye makeup with false lashes and paired them with some pinky purple lips. I wanted to look fresh and pretty and, I think it turned out well. What do you think?

GET THE LOOK

face:
Start with foundation. Apply liquid foundation with a wet sponge. Use a concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone and apply it under the eyes, blending it with the same wet sponge. This will give your face a sheer coverage and a more natural look. Then, set everything with a face powder. This will make your face makeup stay on all day.

eyes:
The eye makeup was very easy and simple. Use a muted golden brown shadow and brush it above the crease with a fluffy blending brush. Then, line the upper lash line with a dark brown liner pen and finished it off with a pair of natural looking false lashes. The false lashes will enhance your eye makeup, so choose any style you please. Also, use a black gel liner to cover the traces of dry lash glue.

For the false lashes, I used ES lashes in A103  from  http://www.kkcenterhk.com/. I was given an opportunity to try them out and I'm really loving them. I love how the band or base was very easy to bend to fit my eyes ^_^

brows:
Fill them in lightly using two shades, a taupe and dark brown brow pencil. Then, use a spooly to brush the hair and blend the colors together. Using a spooly for blending will give the brows a more natural look.

cheeks:
Mix 2 shades of powder blushes, one soft coral peach and a capri bronze and apply it on the apple of the cheeks using a fluffy blush brush. Mixing the 2 shades will result in a warm peachy shade...so pretty!

lips:
Fill in the entire lips using a natural nude lip liner and top it off with a neutral pinky purple lipstick. Chose a purple shade for a pop of color, but you can use any lipstick shade you prefer.

LOOK: Day Time Smokey Copper Eyes

Smokey eyes doesn't always have to be black. You can use whatever color eyeshadow you like to create smokey eyes. Make the color dark and intense starting on the upper lash line and make it fade gradually as it goes up. Also, smokey eyes are not for night time anymore. You can rock smokey eyes during the day by making it subtle and simple like the Smokey Copper eyes for day time that I did. I've been sporting this look at work for a whole week now. It's so easy and simple to do and seriously, anyone can do it.

FOTD: Calm Saturday

I love Saturdays because I get to sleep in. I woke up at 6:30am and  realized its Saturday so I went right back to sleep. It's the best feeling ever!

I must say that I had a nice, relaxed and calm Saturday. I got up at 8:30am, took a slight cold shower so I can feel awake and refreshed, had a light breakfast, cleaned the place a bit, did my notes for work, ran a couple of errands, caught up on my food network and watched some rap battles on youtube. RANDOM! ( I recently discovered dumb and wax on youtube and they're both amazing!). I also decided on put a little bit of makeup on. I feel more pretty when I have makeup on ^_^

No makeup tutorial here, just photos i took taking advantage of the natural sun light.

I call this photo "I don't what to do with my bangs look" Ughh! They're getting on my nerves. I must get them trimmed soon.

On my cheeks, I used a light application of Avon's Smooth Mineral blush in Golden and topped off with Hearty Peach just to give me a little summer glow.

I did a light application of a yellow gold eye shadow all over the lids and a little bit of dark brown on the outer corner of the eyes blended a bit on the crease. Then I lined my upper and lower lash line with a gel liner, curled my lashes and applied mascara.

I used NYX Doll Eyes mascara for the first time and I was loving it. I will do a review on it soon!

My face is a bit chub chub here O_o Must work out soon!!!
for the lips, I had on NYX round lipstick in Lala which is neutral lavender and topped in off with Smashbox Smile Brightening lip gloss

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!

FOTD Neutral with a Pop! and New Layout.

Hello ladies. I'm here with another look. I spiced up a simple neutral eyes with a pop of green for a more fun effect. You can use any bright colors you want, green was just my preference. Anyway, I used a palette from Physician's formula called baked sugar. It consisted of neutral colors like brown, flesh and white. I've had this for awhile now and its my first time using it.

I couldn't stop munching on these. They're salt caramels. You get the sweet and salty at the same time and, its sounds weird but its oohh sooo good. The salt cuts back the sweetness of the caramel so you wont get tired of the taste. Oh and its 50 calories a piece lol.

Oh and I hope you guys like the new layout. My friend's bf did the banner for me :) I like it!

My 10 minutes FOTD. Neutral and Pink lips

This was the look I wore when I went to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art with my friends last night. It was last minute when my friends called me to hang out. At first, I didn't want to go because it takes me forever to get ready and, I don't like to rush whenever I do my makeup. But I quickly changed my mind and threw a simple outfit and did my makeup really fast. For my makeup, I did a simple neutral eyes using browns and flesh tone colors and nude pink on the lips. I was able to do my whole face in 10 minutes and it looked pretty good.
