What is it? Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Penetrating Oil "is a rare formula that has a centuries-old history of providing natural vitamin E and antioxidants while renewing your hair's cell structure, sealing in shine, and creating lush softness. A precious blend of Moroccan argan oil which instantly penetrates the hair shaft restoring shine and softness while strengthening. Derived from the southwest region of Morocco, argan oil protects from styling heat and UV damage while creating soft, seductive, silky perfection." Available at Ulta, drug stores and big box stores for about $7.99.
What did you think? I am not usually one to gush over a product, but OH MY FREAKING GOD, YOU GUYS! This stuff is THE BOMB!
Ok, I've taken a deep breath and calmed down a bit. I've tried out more expensive argan oil products in the past and have never really seen the appeal. Then this summer came and my life exploded. I haven't had the time or money to get into my hair stylist, and as a result, my hair is a mess. I'm a frizzy, fried out mess of a blonde and that is not good....not good at all. I was wandering around Target, trying to find something, anything!, to help improve the condition of my hair without breaking the bank. That's when I stumbled across the new line of Organix products and found the Moroccan Argan Oil line. (Organix makes a shampoo and a conditioner with the argan oil, too!) The penetrating argan oil hair treatment looked good, sounded easy enough to use, and (since it was on sale for $6) the price was right.
I followed the directions and applied the oil to my towel-dried hair before blowing my stressed out locks dry. My hair condition was instantly improved. I went from frizzy to smooth--dried out to lush, and I can say that I am in LOVE with this product. You do need to be careful and control how much you use. I also find that I need to concentrate the product on the lower half of my hair (the split, nasty ends). If I get too much in the roots, it can weigh things down and make my hair look a bit greasy. A little goes a long way, and practice makes perfect.
NOTE: I've since purchased the Organix Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner and they're awesome as well.
Final verdict? I love, love, love this product and my hair is thanking me for buying it. Seriously, nothing else I've used recently has given my hair this much improved texture. I am a convert.

To catch some Gisele-esque waves, follow these instructions:
For a looser curl at the ends, take a 2-inch section of hair and put the end under the kink-free mini clamp. Hold the iron at a vertical angle and rotate it, wrapping the hair tightly around the barrel. Hold the iron in this position for a few seconds, depending on your hair type. Release the clamp and pull the iron out from the center of the curl. For a looser curl at the roots, place hair closest to the roots under the mini clamp and wrap hair down the barrel, leaving the ends out. Repeat this process until your desired look is achieved.
Natural curls are never uniform in size or direction – so to create "maybe she’s born with it" ringlets, it's best to alternate curling methods. Once you've finished your entire head, let the curls cool and then gently shake them or loosen them by finger combing.
This week, Spoiled Pretty is partnering with Bed Head and giving a Foxy Curls Styling Iron away to one lucky reader. To enter, leave a comment below. Be sure to post your email, Twitter handle (make sure you're following @spoiledpretty so I can DM you) or some other way for me to get in touch if you win. Contest open to U.S. residents only.
Contest ends on Friday, July 22 at 5pm ET. I'll announce the winner then. Good luck!

Winner of the ghd Iconic Eras of Style Giveaway
Congrats to the winner of the ghd Iconic Eras of Style Giveaway - Jessica Lucente!
Jessica will receive the Boho Chic set - which includes the ghd Gold Professional 1" styler, two sectioning clips and a step-by-step booklet showing you how to recreate iconic styles at home - packed in a heat-resistant, brown fringed clutch!
I own the same set and I'm obsessed. It's like the styling iron of my dreams, made real. I love that it heats up in mere seconds, and beeps to let me know it's time to do the do. And the contoured plates allow me to create both straight and curved styles. It also shuts off after 30 minutes of inactivity, which is a big plus for me because I'm constantly paranoid that I've left my flat iron plugged in and I'm going to burn down the house. But my favorite feature is the plate guard - it slips on like a cap so you can just throw your hot-as-hell styling iron into your bag (or wherever) without fear that it'll singe up all of your stuff. Love that!
Jessica is going to love it too. Congrats, girl!
Many thanks to ghd for sponsoring this giveaway and to everyone who entered. Check back tomorrow for Spoiled Pretty's next giveaway!

ghd and their global brand ambassador Katy Perry are reinventing styles from the most glamorous eras to create gorgeous looks with a modern 2011 twist. The new Iconic Eras of Style limited edition collection includes three limited edition sets that allow you to reinvent iconic looks from the most dapper decades.
Inspired by old Hollywood beauty, the Glamour set allows you to create captivating soft curls straight from the 1950's silver screen.

Each set includes the sleek ghd Gold Professional 1" styler. The styler has contoured plates that create straight and curved styles. The plates heat up quickly, the device beeps when it reaches your desired temperature, and turns off after 30 minutes of inactivity – so you never have to worry that you’ve left it on and your house may be on fire. The styler comes with a plate-guard that protects the hot plates when the styler is switched off, allowing you to safely pack them away without damaging your belongings. Also included in the set are two sectioning clips and a step-by-step booklet showing you how to recreate iconic styles at home.
Each set is accompanied by a heat-resistant purse that is representative of that era: black satin evening clutch in the Glamour set, brown fringed clutch in the Boho Chic set, and black studded clutch in the New Wave set.

Beauty Product of the Week: Spin Pin
What is it? Goody's Spin Pin allows you to get "3 easy styles. Spin your style! Style guide inside features 3 spin pin styles. To use:
1. Gather your hair at the nape of your neck (no ponytail holder needed).
2. Twist your hair into a tight bun and tuck in the ends.
3. Spin one pin in from the top and the other up from the base, taking care not to interlock pins."
Available at drugstores and big box stores in either blonde or brunette for less than $7.00.
What do you think? Good Housekeeping gave this product a VIP (Very Innovative Product) Award and for good reason: it's easy to use and it works.
I suck at styling my hair. My hair styling skills are limited to a simple ponytail and, when I'm feeling plucky, flat ironing. I've been growing my hair out--it's now just at my shoulders--and being able to pull it back and up into a quick easy bun is a great option, especially now that it's getting warmer.
The Spin Pin makes pulling my hair away from my face and up off my neck a breeze. The instructions are easy to follow, and once you get the hang of it, putting your hair up into an easy bun takes a matter of seconds. The Spin Pins keep hair in place without being overly restrictive. They don't pull or snag, and they twist right out. I can't stress how easy these pins are to use!
Lots of us have used pencils or chopsticks in the past to get our hair up into an easy bun. With these pins, you can leave pencils for writing and chopsticks for sushi.
Final verdict? I like this tool so much that I bought an extra to keep in my purse. It's easy to use, easy to remove, and I love it! Give it a try if you're a hair klutz like me!

Sedu Revolution Tourmaline Ionic Styling Iron
When I showed up at work last week with a halo of shiny, bouncy curls, all of my co-workers wanted to know which salon I had visited. They were all very surprised when I told them that I styled my own hair – in 10 minutes, no less. They were even more shocked when I told them I didn’t own a curling iron.
So what’s my secret? Sedu Revolution Tourmaline Ionic Styling Iron. It’s a three-in-one straightening, curling and wave making machine. The ultra-smooth, polished plates seals the hair cuticle and easily glide through hair, delivering high shine. The anti-slip edges capture all of the hairs, so that each section gets evenly straightened/waved/curled. The iron has adjustable temperature control that goes up to 450°F – and it heats up to the desired temp in less than 25 seconds – so even when I’m in a rush (which I always am these days), I never have to wait to style my hair.
What’s even better is that, in addition to basic black, it comes in…
PINK!
The Sedu Revolution Tourmaline Ionic Styling Iron retails for $160 and is available at folica.com. Kinda pricey, I know…but when you consider that this one tool is all you’ll need to style your hair (it’s great for travel!) and how well it performs, you’ll realize that it’s worth the investment. Buy it now and you’ll thank me later.

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Collection
I love a hair product with Argan Oil in it. For centuries, Moroccan women have used this lightweight yet rich elixir to protect their hair (and skin) from UV damage while creating soft, silky perfection. It used to be that you had to purchase these Argan Oil–infused products at a salon or beauty boutique, and they would cost a pretty penny. Thankfully, Organix just launched the Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Collection (Argan Oil Shampoo, Conditioner, Renewing Treatment and Penetrating Oil) that performs just as well as its prestige counterparts, but costs around $9 per product and is available at drugstores.
Each formula is sulfate and paraben-free, and packaged in bottles made from materials containing recycled post-consumer resin. And all labels are printed utilizing environmentally-friendly inks and compostable label film made from annually renewable resource corn, not from petrochemicals.
*Samples were provided by the brand for review.

Oscars Beauty 2011: Scarlett Johansson
Duffy for Frederic Fekkai styled 2011 Academy Awards presenter, Scarlett Johansson.
INSPIRATION: Duffy sought to bring out "the real Scarlett Johansson" by creating a young, sexy, modern shag with dry texture.
HOW TO:
1. Begin by applying Fekkai Advanced Full Blown Volume™ Styling Whip to towel-dried hair, working the product in from roots to ends.
2. Dry hair using Fekkai Classic Brush to create loose, tousled waves for the textured effect.
3. Apply Fekkai Full Blown Volume™ Lifting Hairspray to roots to prep the foundation
4. At the nape of the neck, spritz hair with Fekkai Coiff™ Océanique Tousled Wave Spray.
5. Using a 1 ½ inch curling iron wrap 2-3 inch sections of hair around the barrel of the iron, leaving ends out. Continue to repeat this act.
6. Take a hairdryer with nozzle attachment and blast the root of the hair for hold and volume.
7. Run fingers through the hair to break-up the waves.
8. Clamp the ends with a flat iron to flatten the curl, creating an imperfect, sleeker wave.
9. Finish the style with Fekkai Coiff™ Sheer Hold Hairspray to give a modern, edgy look.
Johansson’s Make Up Artist accentuated the star's breathtaking beauty exclusively with products from the Dolce & Gabbana range.
He focused on eyes, shading and outlining them using The Smooth Eye Colour Quad in Stromboli 130, applying the darkest color close to the lash line on the lid and beneath the eye line. He then used the copper and bronze hues at the crease of her eye and highlighted the inner corner with a smudge of the golden tone from the palette. He finished the eyes with a sweep of The Crayon Intense Eyeliner in Gold 3 and several coats of The Volumized Lashes Mascara in Black 1 for volume and definition. For a effortless, natural glamour, he used The Ultra Shine Lipgloss in Candy 80 on Scarlett’s lips. A light dusting of The Illuminator in Eva 3 completed the look.
Speaking about the star’s glamorous look for the evening, her personal Make Up Artist said: "Scarlett was simply stunning in tones of gold and copper, offset with a sheer pink to accentuate her lips. She looked the epitome of the modern movie star."

Oscars Beauty 2011: Giuliana Rancic
Giuliana Rancic's hairstylist is sharing the exclusive step-by-step instructions on how to achieve the E! host's gorgeous look using Alterna products:
• Apply Alterna's Bamboo Smooth Kendi Pure Treatment Oil ($24) to damp hair and blow-dry straight.
• Add additional texture with a 1" iron by wrapping small sections of the hair away from the face to create "beach-like" texture.
• Gather the hair into a high ponytail leaving a little height in the front and pulling the sides tighter. Secure with an elastic band.
• Lightly tease the ponytail into a textured poof.
• Create a large bun and secure with French bobby pins. This look is inspired by YSL's Fall 2010 fashion show.

Jennifer Aniston Cuts Her Hair
Jennifer Aniston debuted a new do while promoting her new comedy "Just Go With It" in Madrid. I love a lob (long bob) - as you can tell from my updated Twitter avatar...it's my signature style. But I'm not digging it on Jen. Is it just me or does it make her look older? She looks tired, right? Perhaps the the lighter blond is washing her out a bit. I think a little lipstick would have helped to sell me on this new look.
I've heard time and time again that "women of a certain age" should wear their hair shorter...well, if this doesn't disprove that myth, I don't know what does.
This haircut probably seemed like a fun idea at the time, but I predict that Jen will soon regret it (kinda like her fling with John Douchebag Mayer).
What do you think? Does Jen's new cut make the cut?

(Pro) Mend Your Evil Ways
I've been having hair issues lately. I know what I need to do: I need to get my butt into the salon for a cut and color pronto. But I haven't. I am not sure what my problem is, but lately I haven't wanted to take the time (or spend the money!) to deal with it. I haven't been to the salon since July (gasp!) and as a result, my hair is a wreck.
I was thinking sadly about the state of my hair when I received a huge box from Nexxus. The answer to my woes? I sure hope so! I eagerly tore into the box to find a new system--Nexxus Pro-Mend--that gave me hope--hope that my fried, split, unloved hair could be restored.
Let's check out the products and see what Nexxus has to say about them:
Pro-Mend Shampoo: ProMend Split End Treatment Shampoo prepares split end prone hair for repair by gently cleansing away damaging impurities and build up while giving it the vital nourishment it needs, leaving hair clean, strong and shiny.
Pro-Mend Conditioner: ProMend Split End Binding Conditioner is a revolutionary daily conditioner that feels and performs unlike any other. It targets and binds split ends back together in just 3 washes. Use daily to keep hair looking beautifully healthy and strong.
Pro-Mend Leave-in Creme: Nexxus ProMend Split End Binding Leave in Treatment Crème provides daily repair for split end problem areas. Use after each shower to bind split ends back together before styling, so ends look beautifully healthy and strong.
Pro-Mend Overnight Treatment: Nexxus ProMend Split End Binding Overnight Treatment Crème provides intensive repair as you sleep, binding split ends back together and dramatically strengthening against future splits. Hair is healthy and restored in the morning without leaving residue on bed linens.
My thoughts: Like I said, my hair was a disaster when I started using these products. It was difficult to style, I had a lot of fly-aways, and the texture didn't look great (thanks to dying and frying!). I've used the entire line of products for a couple of weeks now, and I am very satisfied with the results.
The shampoo and conditioner are great. I've been using them daily, and my hair feels clean, silky, and smooth when I'm done. The shampoo seems gentle and the conditioner is relatively light, which surprised me since this line promises to bond hair back together. Seems that the gentle approach works pretty well, though!
I use the leave-in treatment right before I blow dry. It seems to help control those dreaded fly-aways that I get, especially in the winter. I've used many other products before styling, but I like this one. It's lightweight and doesn't make my hair look overly greasy or weighed down like it can with other products.
I try to use the nighttime treatment twice a week (though I sometimes forget). I love that it doesn't mess up my pillowcases! It, too, is surprisingly light. It does seem to saturate my hair, but in a non-greasy way that I appreciate.
After a couple of weeks of using this line of products, I think my hair looks a bit better. Do I still need to get into the salon? Oh hell, yes! But does my hair look a little less like straw than it did before? You better believe it!
I like this line and would recommend it. Another decent batch of products from Nexxus! Well done! Look for the Pro-Mend line at big box stores, Ulta, or salons.

Conair Infiniti Pro Blow Dryer
I have a new special something in my life that I'm excited to tell y'all about.
Meet my new blow dryer boo, Conair's Infiniti Pro. We've been going steady for almost two months and things are heating up.
Our courtship began when my old hair dryer started actin' up. Even when I used it on the medium setting, the dryer would operate on high. No joke – it was like the heat of Hades was coming out of that thing. I didn't want to chance a Michael Jackson Pepsi commercial-esque catastrophe, so I decided it was time for us to part ways.
Fortuitously, around the same time, I received an email from Conair – asking me if I'd like to review their Infiniti Pro 1875-Watt Salon-Performance AC Motor Styling Tool. I responded with a resounding "yes" and a few days later, it arrived on my doorstep so that we could get better acquainted.
Infiniti Pro, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways…
Thanks to its powerful AC motor, the Infiniti Pro performs like a salon-quality dryer. It also dries hair super fast, which cuts down on styling damage. The Infiniti Pro uses ionic technology that reduces static electricity and leaves hair silkier, shinier, and more manageable. Plus it’s much quieter and lighter than your average dryer. Best of all, it only costs around $35.
I also love that I can use my comb attachment with the Infiniti Pro; when a dryer doesn't accommodate my comb attachment, it’s a deal breaker.
The only thing I'd change about my hair dryer honey is the position of the buttons – or, rather, how easy it is to adjust the heat/air flow settings. Sometimes when I'm gripping the handle, I accidentally click one of the switches, which changes the settings.
Aside from this minor caveat, I'm very happy with the Infiniti Pro and I think we're in it for the long haul.
