LOOK: Refreshing Summer Makeup...Blue Liner and Pinky Lilac Lips

There is something so refreshing about this makeup look. To me, the pop of blue on the eyes paired with a pinky lilac lips has a very cool and fresh look to it. It's a fun and pretty Summer makeup look. I actually wore it to Kiko's sister and sister in law birthday party over the weekend and he really liked it a lot ^_^. Kiko is my biggest fan/makeup critic, so I believe him when he says that I look nice ^_^.

I kept my face makeup to a minimum. I used a face primer (Rimmel London Fix and Perfect foundation primer), just a few dots of liquid foundation, just enough to even out my skin tone, a dab of concealer (Almay Line Smoothing concealer) under my eyes to make me look awake and a light application on foundation powder (Mark Powder Buff foundation) to keep everything in place. I know, it's more than one product and it sounds like a lot, but I promise I only used very little of each. The weather was warm and I didn't want nasty melting makeup on my face O_o.

For the eye makeup, I used a matte brown eye shadow to create a soft contour on the crease (Mark I-Mark eye shadow in Espresso $5 buy HERE) and a shimmery light pink eye shadow  (Mark I-Mark eye shadow in Cake $5 buy HERE) to highlight the eye lids...

...for the pop of blue, I used a baby blue shadow on the inner half and a darker blue, like a periwinkle blue on the outer half of the lower lash line. NYC City Duet eye shadow in Yankee Blues $2.99 (at your local drugstore) was the perfect colors because it has 2 shades of blue that compliments each other. I know, I could have used one color, but using two kinds of blue is more interesting because the color transitions from light to dark creating dimension, which I think is super cool ^_^

Wet n Wild Color Icon blusher in Pearlescent Pink $2.99 (Buy it drugstores) is what I used on my cheeks. It's a gorgeous peachy pink with gold shimmers, almost like Nars blush in Orgasm. It goes with everything!

MAC cremesheen lipstick in "I Like It Like That" $14.50. I'm really loving this lipstick, so I had to use it again. It's a gorgeous pinky lilac shade with a cremesheen finish. I think cremesheen is becoming my new favorite lipstick finish. It's creamy with a slight gloss to it. It never dries out my lips.

Here are some photos from the little birthday fiesta. Kiko got these balloons for his sister and sister in law.

He also got them their own cakes...Tiramisu for his sister and a Red Velvet for his sister in law. Both were yummy!

Kiko and I...Asssuus... I likeit when he looks scruffy. The flower on my head band is so huge, it looks like a pom pom bow haha...I like it...It's cute ^_^.

You should try this look. It's very easy to do and the pop of blue is not too loud, making it very wearable. I hope everyone is having a great Summer!!!

LOOK: Summer Acid Brights...Pixiwoo Inspired makeup

One of my favorite makeup gurus on youtube under the username Pixiwoo (sisters makeup artist Samantha and Nicola from the UK) did a makeup tutorial inspired by the "Trend: Summer Acid Brights". The makeup look was so bright and beautiful on Nic that I was immediately inspired to do the same look. She did an extremely bright lime green eyes and coral orangey lips. It looks crazy but I LOVE it!

I just want to point out a couple of things. Whenever I do an inspired makeup look, I try to incorporate my own thing or style...you know, tweak it a little here and there to make the look my own. So my version from Nic will be a bit different. Also, there is no way I'm trying to look like Nic. I'm just a really big fan of her and her sister's makeup skills...they're amazing!

 haha..uneven false lashes..oh nooo!

LOOK: Sunshine Makeup

I went to my friend's wedding not too long ago and I wore this bright yellow dress and my bf kept calling me Sunshine lol. He said I looked like a sunball  walking down the street because my dress was super glowy and bright and it was kind of blinding him  lol. I guess its his way of saying I'm beautiful ^_^.

I re-created this makeup look that I wore at the wedding that matched perfectly with my yellow dress. I did a defined neutral eyes and yellow/gold on the lids with pinky nude lips :). This look is a great bridesmaid makeup if your dress is yellow or just a pretty everyday neutral look for day time. I hope you guys like it!

LOOK: Summer Makeup with a Pop of Color

I didn't realized I already did kind of a similar look right after I got done with the makeup lol (Click HERE to see the look). Oh well, its still pretty and worth posting lol. I did this Summer Makeup with a Pop Color where I did a neutral eye with a pop of shimmery lime green shadow on the inner corner of the eyes and, I paired it with soft coral peach cheeks and lips.

I like these type of looks because they are so easy to do and it's a fun way to add some life to a neutral eye makeup. I also did a video tutorial at the end of this post if you want to learn how I did this look. I hope you guys like it.

Cool Makeup tips mentioned in the video:
  • Don't forget to use a sunscreen if you're going to be exposed to the sun. Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer liquid sunblock is my fave. Read my review HERE
  • Opt for a tinted moisturizer instead of a cream or liquid foundation for a light weight feel.
  • Wet your eye shadow with water to intensify the color. It's called foiling.
  • Filling in your eye brows frames the face and completes the whole makeup look.
