Current Foundation Routine...Mark, Wet n Wild and Physicians Formula

Ever since I finished my favorite Revlon Color Stay liquid foundation (Review here), I've been using other liquid foundation in my collection. I wanted to repurchase another bottle of Revlon, but I though I should use the other liquid foundation I have and give them some love. After all, I did buy all of them, so might as well use them right? I've also been trying new products that resulted in a new face makeup/foundation routine.

These are the face makeup I currently use:
Mark's Face Xpert Flawless Touch makeup, Physicians Formula Conceal Rx Strength concealer and Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals powder foundation.

I've had Mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch in Golden ever since I became a Mark representative. Check out my E-boutique HERE. I've used it several times and I really like it. I'm not sure why I stopped using it. It has an interesting packaging that dispenses the product onto a rounded sponge applicator attached to the top. The texture is a thin liquid that is very light weight and feels cooling to the face. It dries to a semi matte finish that looks very natural. Whenever I had it on, my co workers thought I wasn't wearing any foundation at all. The only downside is the limited shade selection. There's 8 shades to choose from on the Mark website and it's really difficult to distinguish your right shade. My shade is in Golden and it's a really good match for my NC42 skin tone.

Rounded Sponge Tip Applicator

Here is a few dots on the back of my hand.

I gave my Almay Line Smoothing concealer a little rest and I'm currently using Physicians Formula Conceal Rx Strength Concealer in Soft Yellow. It's maximum coverage and conceals dark circles, blemishes, pimples and bruises pretty well. However, it feels very heavy and looks chalky and is way too light for me. It's probably better for people with fair skin. To make it work,  I apply a really tiny amount  under my eyes and blend very well with a wet sponge to prevent it from looking chalky. It gives me a bright under eyes.

A little goes a long way. It's very opaque.

I set foundation and concealer with Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation in Tan.  I did a review on this product awhile back. You can read it HERE.

Here is my current face makeup routine.

  1. After moisturizer/primer apply Mark's Flawless Touch Xpert liquid foundation by dotting it on the cheeks, nose, forehead and chin using the sponge tip applicator.
  2. Blend it all over the face using a clean cosmetic sponge.
  3. Apply a tiny amount of Physicians Formula concealer under the eyes and blend it with the wet sponge.
  4. Using a fluffy face powder, apply Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals on top of the foundation and concealer to set it.

Here's a couple of  FOTD with Mark's Face Xpert Flawless Touch foundation on my face.

Get A Tint on your face

I love makeup but it doesn't mean that I have to wear it all the time. As a matter of fact, I don't wear foundation everyday. I can go out with a bare face and not even care. I just wear my bug eye sunglasses or fill in my eye brows and I'm good to go lol. But for those times when I feel like I need something on my face so I wont look too tired, I either like to use a concealer and apply it under my eyes or I use my Get A Tint tinted moisturizer by Mark. It gives my face a hint of coverage just enough to even out my skin tone. It's light weight, non-greasy and doesn't make me look oily though out the day. I really like it!

Product claims:  "A light weight, oil-free moisturizer with just enough color to even out your skin tone and giving a healthy appearance of a healthy glow. The unique balancing formula hydrates while it helps prevent shine in those spots prone to excess oil".
Source: meetmark.com

For a tinted moisturizer, its pigmented and it evens out my skin tone pretty well. But please, don't get it confused with a liquid foundation. It's not meant to give a full coverage on the face. It's only supposed to give a light coverage just enough to even out the skin tone. I also find this product great for my oily skin. I wear it for a whole day and it makes my face looks dewy not greasy or oily.

Swatch in Honey/Golden. This is my shade and it works well with my tan skin tone. See how pigmented it is?

Here is a before and after pic using my Get A Tint tinted moisturizer. Can you see the difference? I hope you can see the improvement on my skin tone. It's a little better right?
(these photos are not enhanced in any way)

Pros:
  • Pigmented for a tinted moisturizer and it evens out the skin tone pretty good.
  • Very affordable. only $9
  • It's oil free
  • It's non greasy
Cons:
  • I can't think of one thing.

Overall, this is an awesome tinted moisturizer. I highly recommend it to everyone especially to those who doesn't really like to wear foundation on a daily basis. This product feels like a light moisturizer on the face and it evens out the skin tone pretty well. It's also affordable and won't break your bank. This is my second tube and I will continue to re-purchase in the future.

A HookUp connector is free when you purchase 2. You can hook up 2 items on both ends. There are a lot of HookUp items to choose from. For example, I put together good riddance concealer on one end and plumping lip gloss on the other end. You can customize and switch them up according to your preference. They are so portable and convenient

PROS:
-The product is very creamy for a pencil form concealer ^_^
-It works well covering my blemishes and light under eye circle.
-I really like the whole idea of the HookUP line. Its very portable and you can customize what you can put in the hook up connector.

CONS:
-The product is quite small.
-Sharpening the pencil makes you waste more product. No bueno!

Final Thought: Its a great product but keep in mind that whatever works for me might not work for you. I really like the product because it works for me.  Read more reviews on http://makeupalley.com/ and http://meetmark.com/ to see what other people think and feel about it.

Applied medium. Just simply layer on the foundation.

Applied heavily for a full coverage for night time. Simply layer on the foundation with a powder brush. It can be applied wet as well. Dip your powder brush on the foundation and spray the brush with water. All you need is a mist of water.

Will I recommend it to a friend? OMG YES!!

Pro:
-It did not make me oily as much compare to a liquid foundation.
-It did ot break me out
-I love how light it feels even with a heavy coverage.
-I love how the coverage is buildable from sheer to full.
-It does the job in covering my imprefection.
-No weird odor.
-It's very affordable. $8.00

Con:
-The website does not provide accurate photos or swatches of the shades. I was undecided between the shades Almond and Golden because they look similar in person.
-I hope they have more shades for darker women.
