Review/Photos: NYC Skin Matching Foundation.

I was really excited when I was given the opportunity to try NYC Skin Matching foundation. Usually, whenever I think of NYC or New York Colors cosmetics, the first thing that comes to mind is their awesome bronzing powders or 99cents lipsticks and not foundation. I was even more excited to try it because it has "breakthrough tone to tone shade adjusting technology that adapts shades to skin's color and texture." (NewYorkColor.com) I've never tried anything like it and I was very curious to see if it works.

The photo above is how one layer of foundation looks on me. It's in shade medium to deep with neutral undertone and semi matte finish. I'm surprised that it's a pretty good match for my NC42 skin tone. It looks light on initial application, but it blends in nicely once it sets for awhile on my face. It even looks great in photographs and doesn't leave a white mask on my face. 

What I like the most is the thin liquid texture. It reminds me of a tinted moisturizer but with more coverage. It's easy to blend and feels light. The coverage is sheer, but buildable to medium. I don't have much blemishes to cover up, so it evens out my skin tone pretty well. However, I still have to use concealer to cover up a bit of redness and blemishes.

I've tried applying it using my fingers, dry and wet cosmetic sponge and foundation brush and all came out well, but my favorite is the wet sponge. Using a wet sponge gives the most natural look because it's sheer. I just add another layer if I want more coverage.

So, this product works. It works for me. I've been using it for a week and I love it. I will purchase once I run out. The shade medium to deep was able to match my medium skin tone pretty well. It has decent coverage, easy to blend and feels very light and the best part is the $3.99 price tag. You can't beat that ^_^. Get it at your local drugstore now!

Tips : Applying liquid eyeliner

We would like to guide you to apply liquid eyeliner effectively and without any mistake. See how the professional makeup artists apply their own liquid eyeliner with this step by step guide.

1. Preparing

- A liquid eyeliner

- Make up remover

- Cotton bud

2. Before you start

Prepare the skin with a layer of foundation over the eyelids to help the eyeliner go on smoothly, although this is not important.

3. How to apply

Eyeliner can either be applied as brush or fibre tip, or my personal favourite is a cream to powder eyeshadow in black or dark brown as it is easy to vary the thickness of the line.

Liquid eyeliner should be applied along the roots of the upper lashes working up and out from the inner corners outwards. If you can’t draw in 1 smooth motion, draw a succession of little lines along the upper lashes and join them up.

The line should be thicker at the outer corners of the eyes to make them look bigger.

Next, draw a line along the roots of the lower lashes, stopping halfway along and working from the outer corner inwards.

4. The Flick

To create a “flick” beyond the outer corner of each eye, press a credit card or ruler at an angle against the corner of your eye and draw along it.

5. Mistakes

If you make any mistakes, use a make-up corrector pen or some cleanser on a cotton bud to wipe the make-up away.

Mark's Powder Buff Foundation is AWESOME!

Hello readers! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm back with a another review. Whenever I do a review of a certain product, I always make sure that I have used it enough to be able to share my honest opinion. I have been using Powder Buff Natural Skin foundation by MARK every single day for the past month and I have to say that I really am impressed with the product.

What is it? Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation is an ultra-blendable, oil-free pressed powder foundation that allows buildable sheer to full coverage.

0.4 oz, net wt.

The shades comes in Ivory (lightest), NUde, Buff, Natural, Honey, Golden, Almond and Mocha (darkest)
My perfect shade is Golden and I'm a medium/dark skin tone and NC42 in MAC

I love the chocolate brown compact with the pink logo of Mark.

It comes with a sponge.

Photos were taken in macro mode and not enchanced in anyway. They were only cropped and water marked ^_^

Applied sheer for day time with a powder brush

Applied medium. Just simply layer on the foundation.

Applied heavily for a full coverage for night time. Simply layer on the foundation with a powder brush. It can be applied wet as well. Dip your powder brush on the foundation and spray the brush with water. All you need is a mist of water.

Will I recommend it to a friend? OMG YES!!

Pro:

-It did not make me oily as much compare to a liquid foundation.

-It did ot break me out

-I love how light it feels even with a heavy coverage.

-I love how the coverage is buildable from sheer to full.

-It does the job in covering my imprefection.

-No weird odor.

Con:

-The website does not provide accurate photos or swatches of the shades. I was undecided between the shades Almond and Golden because they look similar in person.

-I hope they have more shades for darker women.
