Soft Pink and Brown for Breast Cancer Awareness Month Makeup look

October is the Pink month or Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I personally do not know anyone who had or has breast cancer but I am fully aware that it is a battle many women are fighting everyday. It is a tumor that grows in the breast that happens almost entirely in women. It has taken many people's lives and it is something we should all take seriously. There is no cure yet but we can all show our support by making a donation for the breast cancer research foundation dedicated to breast cancer prevention and finding a cure.

Here are some companies that supports the fight against Breast Cancer.

Ann Taylor offers the Ann Cares card where you can purchase it for $25 and get 20 to 25% off on your entire purcase of $100 or more. 90% off the card purchase will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research. You can donate and save money at the same time. It's a win-win situation. Visit anntaylor.com for more info

Estee Lauder created a Pink Ribbon Collection 2010. $500,000 will be donated to the breast cancer research foundation. You will surely feel good when you purchase one of their collection. You will look fab in your new pink lipstick or lipgloss and you are helping a good cause at the same time.

                           Jeweled Pink Ribbin pin $12.00

Elizabeth Hurley Lip Design Collection $25.00

Evelyn Lauder Lip Design Collection $25.00

...and here is a Soft Pink and Brown makeup look that I created dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's a soft and neutral look with hints of pink in the eyes, cheeks and lips. It's a pretty and easy look to achieve. You can watch the makeup tutorial at the end of this post to learn how I did this look.

LOOK: Party Pink and Purple using NYC City Duet

I picked up one of the NYC City Duet Eye Shadows in Island Sunset at my local CVS for $2.99. I only got one since I wasn't sure how it was going to perform and not sure if I was going to like it or not. The only downfall of buying makeup at the drugstore is that you can't try or swatch the makeup. Everything is packaged and taped and there's no way to test if the makeup are good or not. Oh well, I still bough it and hoped for the best!

I did a Party Pink and Purple makeup using the duo and, I'm convinced that I should go back and get the other ones. I love how the eye shadows are pigmented and easy to blend. I didn't have to use a color base underneath to make the color stand out. It was bright on its own which was awesome! Also, I noticed that these eye shadows has a matte finish. I saw some shimmers in the pan but its not even visible on the lids. This is a plus for me because everyone should have really great matte eye shadows in their makeup collection.

Cool Tips mentioned in the video:
  • Always apply a base  underneath the eye shadows to help it stay put.
  • Use a patting motion when applying eye shadows in the eye lids. It will deposit the color better.

LOOK: Pretty in Pink and Purple

When I have time in my hands, I either take a nap because its the best thing in the world or I play with my makeup ^_^. I came up with this Pretty in Pink and Purple look using a lot of NYX cosmetics and other stuff. My favorite part of this look is the cream blush I used by NYX called Glow. It's a really pretty bright pink shade that gave my face a pretty pink glow.

I can see myself sporting this look at a party, night out with the girls or any fun occasion. I also did a video tutorial so make sure you guys watch it at the end of this post. I hope you guys like it!
