Wet n Wild 50% off haul at Walgreens!!!! It ends Dec 4 so hurry!!!

Thanks to G. of Nouveau Cheap, I get to find out all these awesome drugstore sales. I really want everyone to follow her blog because she's awesome. She updates her blog everyday, informs you on the latest drugstore products as well as drugstore sales, discounts and how to make the most out of your coupons. I really love her blog!!!

So G. is responsible for this quick Wet n Wild haul. After reading her post about the 50% off on all Wet n Wild this whole week (only at Walgreens!), I just had to go! I went over to 2 of my local Walgreens right after work. I didn't have any luck at the first Walgreens. Their Wet n Wild display was a mess and all the products were pretty much gone expect for some face powders, liquid foundation and concealers. But I got a bit lucky at the 2nd Walgreens. They still had a lot of stuff left except for the new  matte lipsticks, ColorIcon blushers and lip liners and no more Holiday palettes ugggh! I've been wanting those and I can never find them anywhere noooooo!

Here's what I got...

ColorIcon powder bronzer in Goddess and powder blusher in Pearlescent Pink  for $1.64 each. The blush might look like a dupe for Nars blush in Orgasm because of the gold specs in it.We will see.

Mega Last Matte lipsticks in Ravin' Raisin and Smokin' Hot Pink  (These were the only ones left. I wanted all the other shades too! )  for $1.64 and Silk Finish lipstick in Sunset Peach for .49 cents.

Wild Shine nail color in Night Prowl and Rain Check for .49 cents each

Eye Makeup Remover for $1.14. I'm not sure how well this works but I'll see and will do a review on this.

Mega Eyes defining marker in Blackest Black for $1.64 and my favorite lip liner in Willow, Berry Red and Brandy Wine for .49 cents each. I'm glad I was able to get these because they were the last ones on display.

ColorIcon single eye shadow in Penny for $1.14. I bought this because G. raved about it in her blog ^_^. She used it as an eye shadow color and blush. Very cool!

I'm going to another Walgreens tomorrow to get more of the Mega Last Matte lipsticks and lip liners in Willow and hopefully they  have the Holiday eye shadow palettes in stock. Wish me luck! ^_^

Sale ends Dec 4, 2010 Saturday.

Oh and I almost forgot. The Holiday ColorIcon Holiday eye shadow palette is not included in the 50% off. However, you can ask the manager if they will honor the discount since all the ColorIcon products are 50% off.

    Happy haulin'!

Recessionista's Fabuless Pick of the Week: eos Lip Balm Smooth Spheres

If the thought of sticking your bacteria-laden fingers in a pot of lip balm/gloss doesn’t appeal to you, I have an excellent (and economical) solution.

New Lip Balm Smooth Spheres from eos have this cool, ergonomic packaging that bridges the gap between high-end lip balms and chapsticks. And the USDA certified organic formula is enriched with hydrating ingredients (Vitamin A, shea butter, and jojoba oil). Available in three delish flavors (Summer Fruit is my fave…and it’s pink, natch), these balms will only set you back a couple of bucks.

I love 'em. Chuck Bass loves 'em. You (and your wallet) are gonna love 'em too!

Lip Balm Smooth Spheres are now available at evolutionofsmooth, drugstore.com and will soon be available at Walgreens (July), Rite Aid (July), SpaceNK (August) and Duane Reed (August).

Be The First To Try Maybelline's New Pulse Perfection Vibrating Mascara

Maybelline's Pulse Perfection Mascara is the first mass market vibrating mascara. At $14.95, it costs roughly half the price of prestige vibrating mascaras. Pulse Perfection won't be on shelves until mid-June, but you can get its pulsating applicator all up in your lashes as early as this Monday.

For one day only (May 18th), visit Maybelline.com/Pulse to snag a tube a month early. The link will take you to one of four online retailers (CVS, Target, Walgreens or Walmart) to purchase the mascara.

Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman Award Winner: EcoTools

With quality beauty tools, you get more out of your makeup. And with some TLC, a good set will last a long time. Great makeup brushes come at all price points, and some of my favorites are from a brand called ecoTools.

ecoTools' brushes are easy on the wallet and on the earth - they feature bamboo handles (which are highly sustainable), vegan bristles, metal from recycled aluminum cans, and reusable pouches printed with plant-based ink.

I am a big fan of the
ecoTools Bamboo 5 Piece Brush Set ($9.99), which includes a Powder Brush, Concealer Brush, Eye Shading Brush, Baby Kabuki Brush, and a linen/hemp cosmetics bag.

These tools rival prestige brushes that cost six or seven times as much. And you will be absolutely blown away by the softness of the bristles and how well they apply your makeup. They make all other brushes green with envy.

ecoTools products can be found at
Target, Walgreens, Wegmans, and drugstore.com.

Coming Soon: Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens!

They’re not yet on the brand website, but Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens have been popping up in random Walgreens stores and generating quite a buzz. Available in 8 colors (white, black, light pink, hot pink, blue, red, silver and gold), these markers are $7.99 each and make nail art a breeze, thanks to the water-based formula.

Embrace your inner polish Picasso and doodle all over your manicure. Mistakes can be easily corrected with a moist Q-tip and some patience. But because the formula is water-based, you must seal your manicure masterpiece with a top coat - or all of your hard work will have been for naught.

So keep your eyes peeled next time you’re at the drugstore or supermarket. And if you live/work near a Walgreens, by all means start your sleuthing there. I’m hoping to get my hands on these stylos, so expect a formal review soon!

CoverGirl's New LashBlast Luxe Mascara

I am the biggest fan of CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara, so my heart skipped a beat when my friend at CoverGirl emailed me to tell me about LashBlast, the next generation. Though I haven’t yet had the pleasure of testing this new product, I can’t keep the details to myself any longer.

CoverGirl’s original LashBlast Mascara was so popular and successful that they had to find a way to reinvent it and really knock it out of the park. So they started with our LashBlast mascara in blackest black and added a hint of luxurious shimmer in four captivating shades. LashBlast Luxe Mascara helps you achieve dazzling fullness with a few quick strokes of the big brush.

The lightweight formula creates a soft , full fan of lashes. Luxe shimmer metallics added to the formula sit on the surface of each lash to add a hint of attention-grabbing shimmer to each lash with bold volume. And the patented moldtrusion brush s designed to max out each and every lash with intense volume; flexible bristles conform to lashes for amazing coverage and a smooth and gentle application.

The Shade Range:
Black Emerald
Black Platinum
Black Cabernet
Black Royale

The new CoverGirl LashBlast Luxe Mascara sells for $7.99 and will be available at mass-market retail outlets nationwide beginning February 2009, though a little birdie told me that the pretty pink tubes have already been spied in select Target, Walgreens and Walmart stores.

A LashBlast Luxe review is forthcoming, so stay tuned!

These Eco-Friendly Brushes Are Wallet Friendly Too!

You know I tell it like it is. I’ll let you know when it’s worthwhile to blow your dough. But I’ll also tell you when I find an amazing bargain buy – like ecoTOOLS cosmetic brushes.

These brushes feature bamboo handles (bamboo has a low impact on the earth’s resources), synthetic bristles, and metallic ferrule made from recycled aluminum cans. The cosmetic brushes are housed in reusable/biodegradable pouches, printed with plant-based ink, and each item has a “green” tip on the back of the package…so everyone who purchases a piece of the collection discovers another small step that can create a greener lifestyle. Plus 1% of all annual sales provides financial support to environmental initiatives.

The standouts of the collection are the larger brushes. I’ve been using the Powder Brush almost every day since I got it. It’s unbelievably soft, applies my powder like a dream, and it’s only $7.99!

Individual ecoTOOLs brushes cost between $2.99 and $7.99. But for just $10.99, you can own the 5 Piece Brush Set – housed in a 100% linen and hemp cosmetic case.

ecoTOOLs products (they also offer bath and body items) are available at Walgreens, Kmart, and Ulta.
