oOo Products I'm Loving At The Moment oOo

There are a few beauty items that every girl loves at a time in her life, so I thought I would share mine with you. I don't know if I would call all of them a "cannot live without item" or a "must", but I sure do love using them mostly all the time and have brought me some benefits. So here they are, in no particular order.

1. Vichy Normateint Foundation. Having oily skin is not very pleasant for the touch, but neither for the look. So I tend to choose something that is good for my sensitive, oily and acne prone skin, containing natural ingredients (this one contains pure thermal water and active ingredients), but that also gives me a good coverage. Even though the Vichy Foundation is pretty pricey (about 20$) and it is not powerful enough to cover the very oily skin types, I think it's a very good buy.

2. Avon Concealer. I have undereye circles and blemishes, so coverage is a must for me. My favorite concealer was a different one from Avon, the "Perfect Match" liquid one, but since they discontinued it, I usually choose their stick ones, Perfect Wear or the Color Trend one, which I'm using right now. It is long lasting, it doesn't break me out and it's really a bargain (about 3 $).

3. Kiko kajal eyeliner pencil. I have started using eyeliner ever since I discovered the cat-eye look. I don't use it for my waterline all the time, as my eyes are pretty sensitive, but I love wearing it on my upper lid. The Kiko kajal pencil is great! It's very soft and smooth, having a glide-on application, just like the Urban Decay Zero pencil liner. Plus, it is long lasting and I use it to fill in the gaps in my eyebrows too, before applying the brown powder on top (price: about 5,50 $).

4. L'Oreal Telescopic mascara. I don't think I have ever tried a better mascara. It makes my lashes twice as long (well, almost :P), it defines them from the very base and doesn't clump them at all! I also love my Deborah mascara in Black + Long, but that doesn't give me quite a long lashes as this L'Oreal one. Actually I really do believe that L'Oreal makes the best mascaras in the world, and they are quite affordable (about 10$).

5. Oriflame Power Shine lipstick. Lip glosses and lipsticks are my favorite part of makeup, even since childhood :). I love shiny, glittery, good scented ones, and I can say that this Power Shine lipstick has them all combined, even a gloss effect! My favorite was Ruby Red and it's been the only lipstick that I have ever bought more than once. I do love to try new things in makeup, but when I like something, I buy it more often. I also love the "Cream Shine" from L'Oreal, very similar to this one, and Avon's Color Trend Star, limited edition.

6. Kiko Super Gloss. This is my favorite gloss as of this year! I've always loved Kiko glosses, but this one is just the way I like it: shiny, iridescent, long lasting and has a slight taste of vanilla to it. Plus, the glitters do not feel chunky on the lips like the Sephora ones and are not sticky at all. I also love the Deborah glitter glosses, the Rimmel "Vinyl Stars" and the Joy ones.

7. Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette. I have mentioned using these colors in many of my LOTDs, simply because they are very good quality eyeshadows. I love the fact that you can do neutral looks, colorful looks, glittery, smokey, shimmery... You name it! It is pricey, yes, and out of stock from the Urban Decay site, but I do recommend these colors to anyone who searches for good quality eyeshadows.
I am also very fond of the Kiko single eyeshadows, normal or baked, and of the elf quads. These brands are respectable companies who create very long wearing colors with a good pigmentation payoff.

 8. Urban Decay Primer Potion in "Sin". I think this is even better than the regular one. Must I add anything else here? Just buy this, and even the cheapest eyeshadow will become a high-end one. Trust me. You can't go wrong with this one. It's truly magical!

I guess there is much more to say when it comes to favorite makeup items. I have to admit this too, that I am not very picky when it comes to beauty items, only maybe just for foundation and lipgloss. But I love low-end, high-end and even no name beauty items. I believe that a good makeup artist can make the best out of any product, if he knows how to do it and, of course, if he wants to be more economic. If I have forgotten anything, I will make sure to mention the item(s) in a different post. Until then,
Have fun! ^.^

Make-up Trend: Cat Eyes and Pale Pink Lips

Looking every bit of a sex kitten on the latest issue of Vogue India is Bipasha Basu. To get her look, apply a thin line of eyeliner where your lashes begin, all the way to the outer edges, extending it a half inch up into a wing. Then thicken the line from the midpoint to the outer corner by going over it a couple more times--you should end up creating a triangle at the outer corner of each eye. Apply a matte black eye shadow over the eyeliner using a small angled brush to darken and fill in any gaps. Apply a few coats of mascara to the top and bottom lashes. Dust a bright pink blush on the apples of your cheeks. For the lips, apply a pinky-nude lipstick that has a pearly finish.

Hair Trend: Sleek, Shiny Hair

On the cover of the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar India, Deepika Padukone sports a straight, swingy hairstyle. To get the best results with your own hair, consider taking a tip from the pros: Shampoo twice to remove all traces of residue from your hair shaft. The first wash removes product build-up, the second whisks away dirt and impurities—and ultra-clean hair dries ultra-bouncy.

Fall Nails

For the past few years now, super dark nails have been all the rage in the fall/winter.  I don't think deep purples, blues, and blacks are going anywhere any time soon.  HOWEVER, if you want to try something new, why not consider tones like gray, beige, or taupe?

Here are five great shades to consider:

Essie Nail Polish in Mink Muffs

OPI Nail Lacquer in You Don't Know Jacques

Butter London in Tramp Stamp

Deborah Lippman Nail Lacquer in Waking Up in Vegas

Chanel Particuliere

What do you think? Will you try "greige" nails?  I love 'em!

$ Kim Kardashian Inspired Smokey Eyes $

Smokey eyes are a sort of little black dress of makeup. They will never go out of style. And who rocks them better today than a Kardashian? Well, we can try too, can't we? ;)
I started off this look with a silver eyeshadow, placed on my whole lid. Then I darkened up the crease with a matte gray color and slowly added an even darker gray, then a black, right on the outer corner, for depth.

*eyeliner looks kinda weird here :-/*
After blending out all the harsh lines, I added a more shimmery light silver just on the center of the lid, to brighten up the eye. As for the lower lashline, I made an interior flick with the dark gray color, the effect that the Victoria Secret makeup artists do to open up the eye of the models on the runway.

A white eyeliner pencil was applied on my waterline, to open my eyes even more. I also took it out a little, right above that inner flick we've created with the dark gray color. I then applied my dark pencil on my upper lid and a pair of long and natural falsies. To make the lashes less visible, I applied above them a liquid liner.

Kim usually uses a nude lipstick or lipgloss so I tried to follow her rule, but made them just a little darker, as I am not a big fan of flesh pale nude lips :P. I added my contouring powder and a little bit of a pink blush and that's it!
And maybe you didn't quite notice, but I'm kinda' hiding my eyebrow arch, as I made a little boo-boo yesterday with my tweezers and plucked an important hair! :(( So yes, I have to fill them in all the time in that part, or else I look like a weirdo :D

Anyways, hope you've enjoyed this look!
