ELF Beauty Encyclopedia Sparkle Eye Edition is a YAY!

It's time for me to do a formal review on this eye shadow palette. I was able to play with it and create different makeup looks and I can  now tell you the thing I love and hate about it. I purchased this on the ELF website during their anniversary sale for 60% off. Everything in the ELF website are very affordable to begin with but adding a huge discount on top of it is suuuper cool! I didn't know what to expect from this palette but after playing with it, I have to say that its a pretty good eye shadow palette to have. It's not the best but its pretty awesome! I definitely recommend this to all beauty junkee like me ^_^

SHADE: There's 4 kinds of Beauty Encyclopedia but this palette is the Sparkle Eye Edition.
TEXTURE: All of the shadow are shimmery and some has chunks of glitters. For the price, don't expect a super smooth texture but I have to say that most of the eye shadows in the palette are pretty soft and surprisingly easy to blend. But you have to be careful in applying it because some of the shadows kind of crumbles and you will get a lot of fall out. My tip is make sure you have a really good base underneath and apply the shadows in a patting motion. The 2 cream shadows has a thin consistency and non sticky.
ODOR: Theres no funky odor to them.

Ratings: 3.5 out of 5
PROS:

• Very affordable
• Great for beginners in makeup because you have all the shimmery shades you need to create so many different looks.
• Most of the eye shadows are easy to blend.
• It has the prettiest shimmery and glittery black eye shadow. I love this color.
• A lot of the colors are very similar to Urban Decay eye shadows.
  

CONS:

• There is not a single matte shade in the palette. In my opinion you need at least one matte shade when doing eye makeup to balance out the colors. All shimmery eye makeup sometimes can look funny and washed out.
• 3 eye shadows are very chalky, it crumbles and its unblendable.
• The fall out can be crazy and can get all over. It even stained the 2 cream eye shadows.
• The Brightening eye liner and mini eye shadow brush is useless. I just toss them out.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:  This is not the perfect makeup palette. Don't expect a wow quality. But I do have to say that its a pretty good palette for its price. I've done several makeup looks using this palette and they were all successful. I was able to create beautiful eye makeup that surprisingly lasted for a long time as long as you have a good base underneath. I definitely recommend this palette to a friend.
