Steel Blue
For this look, I used matte black shadow all over and winged out in the outer corner, with some Steel Blue on top and a little bit of teal and mint in the crease:
I'm turning 30 next thursday and am going to Paris over the weekend, so I'll probably be back to posting in 2 weeks time (:

Shades of Green
Ok, I'll try to remember what I used for this look - I did it last weekend but haven't got around to posting it until now. I experimented with a slightly different crease shape here - a dark, pretty sharp line that ends in a soft colour gradation:

Green Feathers
Since the first time I saw Illamasqua's iconic looks featuring long, feathery lashes on the lower lid, I've been obsessed with finding something similar. I've had a hard time finding lashes that would be suitable for this kind of look, but then I discovered those feather lashes at www.kkcenterhk.com and thought that even though they are somewhat different, they'd be a good start! The only downside: they are incredibly delicate, so you need a lot of care when applying them!
Next time, I'll try and see what the lashes look like on the top lid :)

Gold Leaf
I've been wanting to recreate this look for some months, but had some difficulties in procuring the necessary gold leaf. Via Facebook I got some advice to use gold foil for nail art, and this is what I did! The lashes are again courtesy of http://kkcenterhk.com/ , they are by ES and come in packs of 10 pairs each. They are actually meant to be worn on the upper lid, but I cut them into shape and used them as lower lashes:
Original look:
How to achieve it:
1. Prep your lids with Bare Canvas
2. Apply nude eyeshadow all over the lid.
3. Line upper lids with a thick, winged-out line using gel eyeliner and an angled brush. Then emphasize lower inner corners and line lower lid with a thinner line.
4. Apply matte red eyeshadow along lower lid and blend downwards with MAC #217.
5. Tear gold foil into little shreds and apply to the brows with a pair of tweezers, using lash glue or glitter adhesive to make it stick.
6. Line lower waterline with white kohl.
7. Glue false lashes to the outer part of the lower lid.
8. Carefully apply mascara to your upper lashes (you only want to tint them in order to keep the straight line!)
9. Highlight cheekbones with MAC Lightscapade Skinfinish (as there is no blush used in this look, this is important for some subtle contouring).
10. Apply NYX Margarita lipstick, then stick on some more shreds of gold foil.
Product List
Face: MAC Prep+Prime Face Protect, MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC15, MAC Studio Finish NC15, MAC Lightscapade
Eyes: MAC Bare Canvas, Zoeva 88 Mattes palette, u.m.a. gel eyeliner, Maybelline Expression kohl, ES false lashes, CG Lash Blast

Velvet Blue
A few weeks ago, I was contacted by http://kkcenterhk.com/ and asked if I wanted to test some of their false lashes. They have a huge selection (and I mean HUGE!) of all types of lashes, from subtle to outrageous, and I was thrilled to be able to pick some of them! I will definitely order again from them, as falsies are some of my favourite things to play with :)! The first lashes I tried are these - overall, I liked them quite a lot, the only downside is that a. the glitter weighs them down a lot and b. you cannot really cut them to adjust them to your eye shape without cutting off one of the long spiky lashes. They are available without the glitter as well, so I'd recommend those if you want a somewhat less flashy version :)
How to achieve it:
1. Prep your lids with Bare Canvas
2. Apply matte black eyeshadow all over the lid.
3. Apply matte dark blue eyeshadow in the crease and blend well with MAC #217
4. Glue white rhinestones of different sizes to the outer half of the lid, using lash glue and a pair of tweezers.
5. Line upper lid with black gel eyeliner and lower lid with black eyeshadow, blending downwards.
6. Line lower waterline with white kohl.
7. Glue false lashes to the upper lid, apply mascara on upper and lower lashes

Mint Bubbles
Happy new year everyone!!
I've been sick for the whole of last week and only today I felt adequate again to getting my brushes out. This time I tried to copy a digital look I came across a few weeks ago. This is the original (source: renderosity.org):
My version:
Unfortunately my mint colour is less intense, but I didn't bring anything brighter coloured with me :(
How to achieve it:
1. Prep your lids with Bare Canvas
2. Apply Your Ladyship pigment on the browbone.
3. Apply MAC Crimsonette all over the lid.
4. Apply matte mint shadow on the outer two thirds of the lid.
5. Use a very small, pointy brush to draw small circles and half-circles all over the minty shadow.
6. Use NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk to fill in the circles, then define some parts of the circles with a deeper black (I used black gel liner for this).
7. Liner lower lid with black eyeshadow and blend downwards.
8. Line upper lid with black gel eyeliner and wing it out.
9. Apply NYX natural lashes #115 on the upper lid, then use CG Lash Blast on the lower lashes.

Dark Passion
Happy Holidays everyone! Now that Christmas is almost over, things are slowly getting back to normal - and so is the blog! There might even be some more looks than usual over the next few days as I'm on holidays and for once, not travelling! A few days ago, I came across some digital images of fantasy make-up and was wildly inspired by the fabulous designs, so I decided to do something similar today:
How to achieve it:
1. Prep your lids (I prefer Bare Canvas when taking pictures, as it evens out my lid colour and surface like nothing else!).
2. Apply Your Ladyship pigment on the browbone.
3. Apply matte black shadow all over the lid and in the crease, starting slightly behind the tearduct.
4. Apply matte red shadow above the black across the outer two thirds of the lid with a pointy brush (MAC #219), blending into the black.
5. Take a fluffly brush (MAC #217) and apply Peppier eyeshadow above the red with a very light hand.
6. Line upper lid with black gel eyeliner, drawing the line further out in the inner and outer corners. Also line below the lower lashline and blend the harsh line with black eyeshadow.
7. Apply matte rd and Peppier on the lower lid in the same style as the upper lid.
8. Apply Majolica Majorca RD544 red metallic liner on the inner half of the lower lid as well as the outer half of the upper lid.
9. Put a small drop of lash glue to your hand and dip some red rhinestones into it one by one, then apply the rhinestones to the outer lid and on the browbone. Pick up and apply the rhinestones with tweezers. Add a clear one in the inner corner as well.
10. Line the lower waterline with white kohl pencil.
11. Apply false lashes and mascara to the upper lashes, then mascara only to the lower ones.
Done!
Product List

Green Equinox
Blogginbeauties, a dutch beauty blog, is featuring my blog and an interview with me today! Check them out here: blogginbeauties.nl
Some weeks ago, a friend sent me some pigments from alva's Green Equinox collection to try! Those are probably the mineral eyeshadows that most resemble MAC pigments, they are much less powdery than most regular mineral products! Therefore, the intensity is almost like foiled shadow, and the colours are very pretty too! In this look, I used Side by Side, a very intense copper shade, all over the lid and drawn out into the crease. For the crease, I used Mauve Me, which is similar to MAC Violet but lighter and more muted, and a matte dark-ish blue/violet from the Zoeva palette. I also used bit of MAC Lark About pigment in the inner corners, but that wasn't the best idea, it is too shimmery! The false lashes are part black, part purple.
My eyeliner is sadly giving me some trouble - lately, I cannot seem the colour to look good, it always ends up looking watery and my skin is getting increasingly uneven around the upper lashline :( Anyone ever had the same problems and found a good solution to them??

Elegant Smokey Holiday Look
My take on a simple but festive smokey eyes look - for all those who prefer something timelessly elegant for the holidays! This is a very classic concept which I spiced up a tiny bit by adding extra lashes on the lower lash line. The main lid colour is Fyrinnae's Newcastle, mixed with some matte black from the Zoeva palette. The browbone highlighter is MAC Your Ladyship pigment:
