Review/Photos: ELF 11 Piece Studio Brush Collection

This brush collection is hands down the best brushes in my makeup kit. I own a mix of high end and low end brushes and this set beats them all. It's great quality and it's darn affordable. I even included it in my 2010 LOVES because it's that good. I can't remember a day that I didn't use a brush from this collection.

By the way, this review is just about the 11 Piece collection as whole. Review of individual brushes will be posted soon.

WHAT'S IN THE SET?
The set includes every brush ELF Studio line offers. It has a variety of  face and eye brushes and each comes with a brush guard which is friggggin' awesome! Brush guards helps keep brushes in it's original shape so getting them was a great bonus. Also, the brushes comes in a zippered black case made from a soft synthetic fabric. It has so much room for the brushes.

QUALITY OF BRUSHES:
All the brushes from the Studio line are made from synthetic Taklon bristles and they are suuuper duuuper soft! I prefer taklon from natural bristles because they can be used with wet or dry products, they are easier to clean and animal cruelty is not an issue. The handles are very sleek and well made. I've had them for a year and they are still in great condition.

PRICE:
The set retails for $30. All of the brushes in this set are sold separately for only $3 each. I don't know about you but that price is pretty difficult to beat. Also, you can always get the set for an even cheaper price since ELF always offers coupon codes/discounts pretty much all the time ^_^. I got my set for only $12 bucks during a 60% off Anniversary sale last year. Click HERE to see what else I got.

It comes with brush guards...yay!

FINAL THOUGHTS:
I love it, go get it!!!

availability: eyeslipsface.com, Target (for individual brushes)

My 2010 Loves!

I'm going to show you my favorite products of 2010. I initially planned on doing a December favorites but a 2010 favorites is more appropriate. I'm going to share makeup products that stood out to me for the past year. It was a bit difficult to decide on what products are going to be included in this post but I just thought about products I reached for the most whenever I do my makeup. The products will be in random order so here it goes...

Milani single eyeshadows. These drugstore eyeshadows are always going to be my favorites. In my opinion, these are one of the best eyeshadows in the market.  They are pigmented, easy to blend and they come in a variety of beautiful colors and for only $3.99, you really can't beat it! My favorites are Shock which is a dual chrome pinky purple shade and Rich Chocolate which is a matte dark brown. I use it to fill in my eyebrows.

NYX single eyeshadows. These are also one of my favorites because they are great quality with an affordable price tag. They're only $5.50 and are very comparable to many highend  brands. The texture is soft and silky and they blend very well. I have too many favorites from this line but the one I reach for the most is Highlight. It's a french vanilla shade that goes with every eye makeup I do.

NYX Doll Eye Long lash mascara. I was instantly hooked, the first time I used it. It's supposed to make your lashes long and it really does! It's amazing! It retails for $9 bucks and it's a little bit expensive in my opinion but it's worth it.

I know, another NYX product lol. These NYX round lipglosses are like liquid lipsticks that glides on smoothly on the lips and are so pigmented and opaque. The only downside of this product is the old drawer scent it has lol. But it doesn't bother me too much since I reach for these when I want a quick splash of color on my lips.

Milani mosaic blush in Afterglow is my everyday contour shade. Even though it has a bit shimmers in it, it doesn't make my face look muddy or orangey.

Mac Mineralized Skinfinish natural in Medium Deep is the best face powder I've ever tried. It's a sheer to full coverage powder that looks natural on the skin. It's almost impossible to make this powder look cakey. It also gives a slight sheen on the skin that looks glowy and not oily.

Mac blush in Gingerly is my favorite blush that I reach for the most. It's a capri bronze shade that goes well with any makeup look I do.

Wet n Wild nude lipliner in Willow. I went through a lot of these lipliners in the past year because I pretty much use them every single day. It gives me the most natural looking nude lips.

Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes. These makeup wipes are so refreshing and soothing to the skin. It was my life saver during the hot summer days of L.A. I used these to cleanse my face and neck to cool me down.

Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation. This drusgtore liquid foundation is the one I reach the most whenever I do my makeup. It blends well onto the skin, the coverage is buildable and it isn't lying when it says "colorstay". It really does stay on your skin for long time with or without a foundation primer.

Rimmel London lipstick in Spotlight is so moisturizing on the lips and applies like a lipbalm. It also gives me a natural looking nude lips great for everyday lip color.

Almay Line Smoothing concealer is my everyday concealer. It's liquid which makes it easier to apply under the eyes because it's very light. Application is very easy because of the doe-foot applicator. I just do dots under my eyes then blend with my finger. I own 2 shades, one in medium/light which I use during the day to cover up slight dark circles and blemishes and light for night time to give me bright under eyes ala Kim K ^_^

E.L.F. Studio 11 piece brush set includes all their Studio line brushes plus a sleek carrying case. They are well made brushes made from Taklon bristles which makes them great for either wet or dry products. They are very soft with sleek handles that feels great. I use their flat top powder brush, blush brush, c-brush and angeled liner brush the most.

These are the products that made me look pretty in the past 2010. I love them and I will continue to use them.  I hope you guys find it very helpful.
