Bollywood Make-Up Artists' Make-Up Trends

On the catwalk
  1. According to ace make-up artist Cory Walia, “the latest trends are the metallic and mineralize eye shadows. I recommend M.A.C Mineralize Eyeshadows. They contain reflective pigments that give your eyes an instant shine. Dramatic eyes are in and it’s nice to use eyeliners in metallic and jeweled shades like… sapphire blue, emerald green, amethyst or even a single line of red… just to add to the drama. Define your eyelashes with mascara and you’re good to go! Contrasting shades of shadow and liner look nice, too.”

  2. Adds Clint Fernandes, “gold is very big this season. Glitter too, is very big. Hints of glitter on the eyes along with frosted lips look great.”

  3. On the international scene, eye shadow colors such as green and blue (with a hint of shimmer) or matte shades of purple, blue and taupe for a colorful yet smoky effect. Neon shades of eye shadow such as lime green, bright orange and hot pink were more in vogue during the summer, but hey, retro is back with a bang so experiment away with this look if you want!

Advantage… You!

  1. Metallic eyes will give you a bright-eyed and alert look during the day. Opt for all the drama while heading out at night (like Cory explained).

  2. Add a pop of mineralize skinfinishes on your cheeks for instant shimmer and a dewy and glowy effect. I recommend M.A.C Mineralize Skinfinish in New Vegas

Doing it right!
  1. During the day, pick a shade of eye shadow close to your skin tone, but with a slight shimmer. This enhances the eyes without overdoing it.

  2. If your complexion is more on the olive or yellow side, opt for earthy colors. Experiment with metallic shades of bronze, gold, deep red, purple, orange and some shades of pink.

  3. If you have a fair or rosy complexion, go for lighter and less opaque shades in pink, lilac, and sky blue.

  4. Use translucent powder before applying eye shadow (in upward strokes) to catch any excess that falls around.
