If your old nail polish has left your nails stained and discolored, have no fear, there are several ways to get remove stains from nails. Here are a few tried-and-true methods from nail experts:
1. Get rid of yellow stains by mixing a tablespoon of Clorox in a cup of water, then scrubbing nails with an old toothbrush. -- NYC podiatrist Suzanne Levine in InStyle Magazine.
2. Allure Magazine suggests rubbing a drop of lemon or lavender oil on nails and buffing out the stain.
3. InStyle also recommends brushing away yellow stains on nails with a peroxide toothpaste. I suggest using an old toothbrush for this method as well.
4. L.A. nail expert Ramona Givens suggests halving a lemon and squeezing out some of the juice, then placing fingers in the lemon and moving them around a bit. Let the lemon juice soak on nails for a couple minutes, then scrub nails with a baby toothbrush.
