Beetlewing

Bored with the dreary sunday weather, I decided to get the minerals out again and found the perfect colour to match the day: "Gloomy Sunday" by Archetype :) Inspired by the purple and green iridescence of a beetle's wing (and the Archetype colour of the same name), I created this rather subtle look and added a little pattern of pure white rhinestones for some extra sparkle:

Wood Elf

I hope you're not getting tired of teal/green looks yet? I've had that gorgeous green glitter sitting in my stash for some months, but I never got round to using it before. It's practically the same as MAC's Green glitter colour-wise - a very beautiful, blue-based green. I applied Fyrinnae's Leif (intense medium green with slight gold shimmer) all over my lid, darkened the outer corners with Bottle Green and then usd Ophelia's Tears (light green) to blend upwards. To make the glitter stick, I used my Fixing Gel and applied it both on my inner lid and beneath my eye, drawing it out onto my cheek and adding some rhinestones and false Ardell lashes:

Back to the Sea

Another marine look, to keep in with this week's (unintentional) sea theme :)... The main colour in this look is "Back to the Sea" by Archetype Cosmetics, a stunning teal/mint colour with a very complex gold interference. The shape I used in this look is a variation of this look, but this time, I decided to cut the crease only along the outer half of my eyes, instead of all the way past the inner corners. I then used Fyrinnae Sweet & Sour (matte medium dusky purple) and MAC Carbon in the crease and blended upwards, highlighting with MAC Vanilla. The lashes are by essence and have tiny glitter flecks on them - I would actually prefer them without the glitter (for once), but the shape fits my eye so perfectly that they are my favourites to wear!

Morning Mist

Somethin simple this week, for a change: I wore this look on Saturday when I went to shop the MAC - Brunette Blonde Redhead collection. I know, I didn't use a single MAC Colour here, but at least I didn't get slapped in the store for that (:... I only ended up with Redhead MSF and Partial to Pink Cremesheen gloss anyway, I walked in wanting to buy the Blonde MSF but it looked so similar to Lucent that I passed.

As I said, this look is simple: just China White in the inner corner, Drama Queen in the middle, Raven's Feather in the outer corner plus white kohl on the waterline, black liner and mascara. Voilà!

Snow!

This morning, we woke up to the first snow of this winter -not too much, but enough to cover the trees and houses with a thin layer of white. I just love the lighting when everything is snowy outside (because the light is all diffuse due to the snow's reflection) so DH and I went to the park in front of the house and took some wintery pics!

The make-up is rather subdued, I used Warm Chill on the lid, Dungeon in crease and Heart of Gold to blend the two together, and some additional Dungeon in the inner crease to give some more dimension. Lashes are au naturel today, and for the wintery reddish cheeks I used some Hipness blush applied with the MAC #187.

Another Archetype Look...

This is the second time I'm using Archetype mineral shadows (www.archetpyecosmetics.com) - I like them because they're really sparkly, multi-faceted and they come in many colours that I like (although some of them are quite similar)! I used them with a wetted brush - Jadite in the inner corner, Daybreak Aeval on lid, Black Dalia in the crease and Katerina on top:

This is the first time I took pics in my new place - and I had a pretty hard time finding some good lighting!
