Review/Swatches: Limited Edition Milani Color Streaks

If you remember, I blogged about the press release on the limited edition Milani Color Streaks. They are available exclusively at select CVS drugstores only for this month of June. I've never heard of such product before, but upon learning about it and playing with them with my niece, I found that they're actually pretty cool!

Milani says, "Milani Cosmetics gives a new meaning to summer-streaked hair

Paint your hair from tip to tip with Milani’s Limited Edition Product--- Color Streaks. Adding a fun pop of color and sparkle to your hair has never been so easy. With five exciting colors, Color Streaks will take your hair from boring to bold in a flash! The mascara-like precision applicator gives you desired color where you want it in less than 30 seconds and then simply wash it out and start again!"

*Contains Keratin, which helps rebuild and restore hair.

Limited Edition Product Available ONLY the month of JULY at select CVS drugstores.
Available Shades: Fun in Red, Solid in Gold, Cool in Blue, Awesome in Purple, & Dramatic Shimmer. Retail, $6.99

Fun in Red
It's more of a bright burgundy than red in the tube and fuschia in the swatch. It has lot of red glitters.

Cool in Blue
Bright blue with blue and silver glitters.

Swatches on my arm. You can't really see the glitters in these photos, but I promise you there's glitters. They are sparkly and pretty!

I used it on my neice's hair. The last time I dyed my niece's hair was with cool-aid. Yes, you can dye your hair with cool aid. It's very messy and sticky, but it works! These Milani Color Streaks are a step higher from the cool aid of course. No mess and very easy to apply. All I did was I get a small section of her hair, held the ends tight, pulled it down and swipe the mascara wand starting from the roots down to the tips. I repeated the process many times until I got the desired color. One swipe is not enough, so don't be afraid to build up the color.

It took about 20-30 minutes for it to completely dry. Try not to mess with it too much while drying. The color transferred on my finger tips because I kept on touching every minute to see if it's dry. But it can be easily washed off with soap and water, so it wasn't a big deal.

As you can see in the photos, the colors did show up, but not as bright as I was expecting it. My neice's jet black hair made it difficult for the color to show. Also, her hair didn't turn crunchy or stick and I was able to style it.

The colors lasted the whole day and removal was easy. My niece took a shower and it came off just like that!

Milani Color Streaks are a fun way to add temporary color to the hair. It's very easy to apply as well as remove it. Just keep in mind that the color pay off will vary depending on your hair color. The darker the hair, the more difficult the color is going to show. These are only available for a limited time, so if you want to get your hands on them, go to your CVS drusgtore now!

It's the only bronzer I use...Milani Mosaic Multi Color Bronzer and Blush in Afterglow

Milani Mosaic Blush in Afterglow is the only bronzer I use. It's not that I don't want to use other brands, but after purchasing a lot from last year's 75% off clearance sale at CVS and learning how amazing they are, why would I want to stop using them?

What I like:
-#7 Afterglow is a mosaic shade of peach, different tones of browns with fine gold shimmers meant to be a blush, bronzer and even eye shadows. It's great for light to medium skin tone.
-It's sheer. I love how I can control over how much I put.
-The gold shimmers are thankfully not visible on the face. I wouldn't want too much shimmers on my face especially during day time.
-It doesn't look muddy or orange on my face.
-You get a lot of product. I've been using since early 2010 and I still haven't hit the pan.
-It's affordable. Only $8.99.

What I don't like:
- Nothing. I really love this blush.

Here are several ways I like to use it:

1. To contour the eyes. It's the perfect shade to contour the eyes to give a slight definition or as a blending color in the eye makeup.

1. Prime the eye lids with a concealer.
2. Using a fluffy blending brush, swirl it in 2 shades of brown.
3. Apply it on the crease going back and forth to create a slight definition.
4. What it looks like with my eye open.
5. With flash.
6. Without flash.

2. To contour the face. This is one of my favorite makeup application. I apply it under the cheekbones, temples and jawline. It gives the illusion of a slimmer face and it looks great in photographs.

3. To contour the nose. Also my favorite makeup application. I like my cute flat nose, but I like to do this step sometimes to make it appear slimmer and longer.

I highly recommend this blush to everyone. It's multi-purpose, it will last you a long time and it's very affordable. Visit their website Milani.com to see other shades.

Favorite Lip Combo...Soft Orchid and Fashion Diva

I haven't been wearing a lot of makeup, specifically eye shadows. I haven't been in the mood playing with them, which is super weird because I love eye shadows. I was even excited when I got my new Double Stack eye shadow by KKcenterHk with all the bright and fun colors. But I guess I'm in one of those lazy makeup phase where I just don't wanna put anything on my eyes O_o.

So my lazy makeup routine at the moment consist of:
-A sheer application of MAC Studio Fix fluid all over the face,
-Conceal under eye circles with Almay Line Smoothing concealer
-Set it with MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural
-Blush. Any blush.
-Sally Hansen Color Comfort Lip Color in Soft Orchid with Milani 3D Glitzy Glamour gloss in Fashion Diva on my lips.
-And no eye makeup at all.

I've been wearing this lip combo for awhile now. Soft Orchid lipstick is a gorgeous mauvey purple with a luster finish ,while Fashion Diva lipgloss is a purple magenta packed with multi-colored shimmers! I've done a review on this lipgloss here. I wasn't too crazy about the outdated look of the packaging, but the shimmers with purple, pink and silver was absolutely gorgeous!

Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Color Comfort Lip Color in Soft Orchid. I'm not sure if this lipstick is still available at drugstores. I bought it last year for $7 and forgot I had it. I know, I'm bad! It applies smooth like a lip balm with a creamy consistency of a lipstick and it's non-drying at all. Love it!

As soon as this lazy makeup phase goes away, I'm gonna get back into eye shadow looks again!

Thanks for reading my blog and welcome to all my new followers.
Love you guys!

It's super Shimmery!!!

I'm talking about my new lip gloss love, the Milani 3D Glitzy Glamour Gloss in Fashion Diva. It's supposed to give my lips a 3D effect from all the shimmers it has, but I don't see it O_o. But I have been using it almost everyday and I love it! Fashion Diva is gorgeous sheer purple-y magenta. It's sheerness may be an issue for some people, but I like the fact that it is sheer and it gives a hint of color with a lot shimmers on my lips. It's sooo pretty! ^_^

WHAT: New soft and brilliant formula filled with super shiny polymers and the next generation of pearls to create the illusion of 3D depth for fuller sexier looking lips. (source: http://www.milanicosmetics.com)
WHERE: I'm not sure if this shade is available in all drugstores. I got mine at my local CVS
PRICE:  $5.99-$6.99 depends on where you get them
AMOUNT: 0.12 oz
SHADE: Fashion Diva, purple-y magenta
TEXTURE: Smooth and non-sticky.
SCENT: It has a sweet candy scent to it.

The applicator is a thin brush.

Ugh! I'm not loving this gold cap. It looks tacky if you ask me O_o

Swatched heavily on a white paper. It has so much shimmers in it.

Swatch on my lips by itself. It's sheer and gorgeous.

PROS:
-It's a great everyday lip gloss to wear by itself because it's sheer.
-The thin brush applicator makes it easy to apply the gloss.
-The texture is non-sticky.
-The shimmers in it are not grainy.
-The shimmers are visible on the lips.
-It's pretty affordable.

CONS:
-The packaging is bulky and tacky in my opinion. Very outdated look. I hate the gold cap O_o
-It's not that long lasting but it's okay.
-The label/name is on a sticker instead of on the actual tube or cap. I just thought it was weird but I guess it shouldn't bother me.

FINAL THOUGHTS:  Even though, I hate the packaging and would not whipe this out in public, I still like this product and will re-purchase. I like that its sheer and it gives a hint of color on the lips with lots of shimmers if worn by itself, and it makes any lipstick look even more prettier if worn on top. Also, the shimmers are not grainy at all which s a major plus. I've tried other lip glosses where I would feel the shimmer/glitter on my lips. Yuck!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Collective Haul: Drugstore, Ann Taylor and Bath and Body Works.

Hey everyone! I just like to say thank you for the sweet comments you guys left on my Super Bright Green and Yellow makeup on my previous post. I have sweet and kind blogger friends ^_^. Anyway, just wanna share my collective haul that I have accumulated in the past 2-3 weeks. It's not that much, but I still want to show you guys because I love everything that I got.

Bath and Body Works during their Semi-Annual Sale where most of their stuff were 50-70% off.
Cucumber Melon Triple Moisture Shower Cream

Cucumber Melon Body Butter
orig price: $15.00

Siiiiiiiiighhh! I love anything cucumbers because it smells clean, fresh and soothing. I'm really loving the shower cream and body butter. The body butter is not too thick and very light on the skin and it's not sticky ^_^

Cucumber Melon Pocket Bac Antibacterial hand gel
I got these for 5 for $5

I love these. I work with kids and most of them are sick all time, and I constantly have to use hand sanitizer for protection lol. I also love the size because you can just throw it in my purse and use it whenever I need them.

CVS drugstore
It's not a good thing when you work walking distance to a drugstore lol. I find myself going on my lunch break or after work to kill time. I always end up getting at least one item for no reason at all.

Revlon Photo Ready liquid foundation in Golden Beige. It's supposed to be the drugstore High Definition foundation. I know!!! I finally gave in. I blame it on youtube video review and haul for this product lol. But I do like it. So far I have no complaints about it except for its not the right shade for me because of the limited shade selection. But I managed to make it work though ^_^ Go to this POST to see how it looks on my face.

Milani Mineral Powder blush in Mai Tai. I've been seriously wanting this blush and, its always sold out at my local CVS. There was one left when I went to i got it ^_^
price: $5.99

Milani 3D Glitzy Glamour lip gloss in Fashion Diva. This one caught my eye because of the gorgeous Magenta color. I love the fine shimmers in it that is very visible on the lips ^_^

Ann Taylor
The Petite Perfect Ponte Pencil Skirt

FOTN: Sun Goddess and Shock

Recently, I have been loving the color purple. I'm not sure why. I did a little shopping not too long ago and when i got home I realized that all the clothes i got were purple or has some purple in it ^_^. Anyway, purple is a pretty color especially in an eyeshadow. It works great with all skin color especially medium to dark skin.

I did a purple and bronze look for my best friend Mon's birthday on Saturday. I wanted my makeup to match my purple hoodie. You have to be careful when you match your makeup with your clothes. You can look like a clown if the makeup is over done.

Tip: keep the bright color e/s just on your lid and do not pass the crease.

-Dermablend setting powder in Cool Beige applied with a powder puff all over the face to set the concealer and foundation.

-Milani bronzer to contour the cheekbones.

- NYX jumbo pencil in black bean applied and smudge all over the lids. This would act as a dark base.

-Milani e/s Sun Goddess applied on the crease then brushed above the crease and on the brow bone as highlight.
-NYX e/s in black applied lightly in the outer V to give a little bit of definition. Blend with a blending brush.
