I love her Chinky eyes. A friend's makeover.

OMgooolay! I finally did makeup on Asian eyes. Yes, I'm pretty excited because I've been wanting to do makeup on a person with mono lids or Asian eyes. They come in different shapes and, I'm always curious on how to apply eye makeup on them because I think they are so beautiful.

This is my friend Grace and she's Korean American. She's never had her makeup done before ever. At first, she was a bit worried because she didn't want to look funny and she thought there's no way eye shadows would work with her small eyes. But nonetheless, she was nice enough to let me do my thing lol. Also, she didn't care what makeup I did so....dark smokey eyes it is!!! ^_^

I did her eye makeup slowly because I was trying to study her eyes. She didn't have a lot of lid space to work with and I was careful not to cover her entire lids that will cause her eyes to look smaller than what they are. I mainly focused on the outer V or outer corner of her eyes using a mix of black, burgundy and brown eye shadows. I also created a slight fake crease to give her eyes some definition. This part took a lot of blending. Then I did a very thick line on her upper lash line with a black gel liner. It came out really nice and the most important part was she loved it.

Grace's Before. She has amazing skin and no dark circles or pimples. Lucky!!!

Grace's After
Look, I applied false lashes on her and she loved it ^_^

She liked her makeup a lot and she said I can practice on her eyes anytime ^_^. I'll be more prepared next time and bring my brow stuff so I can mess with her eye brows next hehe...

Thank you guys for stopping by my blog and, I really appreciate everyone's comments!

My friend's before and after. MUA: Becky!

Happy birthday America!!! I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. Its almost 12am over here and I'm still hearing fireworks from the neighbors. Sigh...please let me sleep O_o lol. I wanted to share some photos when I did my friend's makeup. I haven't done someone's makeup in a long time and I needed to polish my skills. My friend Jackie let me play with her face. She was pretty much open to try whatever kind of looks on her.

I did 2 makeup looks. The first one was a day time look. She wanted a simple and natural looking makeup. I used neutral colors on her eyes paired them with  mauvey lips. The second look was a dramatic smokey eyes and nude lips with false lashes. She was a bit scared at first, but she loved the outcome. She's never seen herself with such dramatic makeup.

before .She has really nice skin as you can see.

Look #1 Daytime Natural Makeup. I used neutral shades of brown on her eyes and I just applied a sheer application of Graftobian HD creme foundation using the beauty blender all over her face . (Gosh, how I love that sponge. It's amazing! ). Then her brows were lightly filled in with a mix of 2 shades of brown, a light and a dark shadow.

Look #2 was a dramatic smokey silver/gray and black eyes paired with nude lips. I intensified the eyes with a black e/s on the crease and added more eye liner on the upper lash line and water line and I applied false lashes, which made the look more complete. I also darkened the brows to make them stand out. For the lips, I applied the same color creme foundation I used on her face and topped it with lip gloss.

I hate how the camera always washes out the colors. This look was really intense in person and she almost didn't recognized herself lol. But she loved it since its something different. Thanks Jackie for letting me play with your face.

Good night everyone!

Monica's Hair and Makeup feat. Suave hairspray

I was able to do my best friend Monica's hair and makeup a month ago because she celebrated her 2 years anniversary with her boyfriend. He was going to take her somewhere nice so she wanted to get all dolled up :)

I like doing her makeup because she always lets me do whatever I want. Now, that's a cool friend right? Anyway, I did a subtle smokey gold on her eyes. I used NYX e/s in Yellow Marigold on her lids, a brown e/s from my 120 eye shadow palette on her crease and outer V and MAC e/s in Nano Gold on the brown bone.

NYX' e/s in Yellow Marigold is such a pretty color. See for yourself.

Moving on her hair, I did something a little elegant but not too over the top. She said she wanted her hair up but not on a pony tail. To be honest, I don't know the name of style I did. I just made it up along the way lol. Bare with me as I describe everything I did for its not that easy to put them in words.
Ok so I first applied mousse all over her damp hair. I was very generous since Monica has thick and curly hair.
Photobucket
Next, I parted her hair on the left side (you can part it in the middle too if you want), then I twisted outward the hair surrounding the temples of her head starting from one side. I told her to hold it for me then I twisted the other side. Once its all twisted, I connected both sides and tied it with a black rubber band. It should look like a half pony tail. Then I tied the rest of her that was left with a rubber band in a low pony tail. It should look like the photo below.

I applied more mousse on the bottom of the hair for a more wet look and, I finished everything with hairspray all over for strong and long lasting hold. TIP: Layer the hairspray for a maximum hold.
The finished look. She was very happy with the outcome so I was happy as well :)

Oh and the hairspray I used on her hair which I am loving at the moment is Suave's professionals shaping and finishing spray in freeze hold. I got this bad boy for $1.50 at Big Lots. The product does what it says. It gave an extreme hold for superior style and Its comparable to Sebastian's super shaper plus hairspray.

for only $1.50-$2.00 vs $19.75 (depends on what website you go to)

Janet's Before and After using Mac Spiced Chocolate quad

I was able to do another person's makeup this weekend. My goal is to practice makeup application on other people as much as I can so I can get better at it. Its never easy for me to do other people's makeup. Its not the same as when i do my own face. Anyway, here is my friend's niece Janet. The only makeup she wears on a daily basis are black eye liner, mascara and a chapstick.

She was so fun to work with. She was so excited and said i can do whatever I want lol. I decided to use my Spiced chocolate quad from Mac on her eyes with brown and copper. She was happy with the outcome so I was happy as well :)

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

A Sweet teen look for America and TAG!

I'm not talking about the country America. I'm referring to my best friend's niece named America. I had the chance to do her makeup last night and, I had so much fun doing it. Her whole family was watching us the whole time. I felt a little uncomfortable but I got over it. Shes 14 years young but in person she looked much older. Sigh..kids grow up too fast these days. Anyway, I did not want to do anything too dark and heavy that will take away the youth in her. So I did my best to create a soft look using pink and browns. Also, I liked the fact that she hasn't messed with her eyebrows. I told her not to mess with it yet ;P

I forgot to take a before picture :(

Photobucket

I used a shimmery light pink on her lids and soft brown on her crease and nude pink on her lips.
I thought It turned out nice and, She really liked it. Afterward, she went in her room and took pictures of herself on her cellphone lol. So silly!

She has the longest lashes. Lucky!!!

Monica's FOTN :) The Classic Smokey Black Eyes and Nude Lips

I'm really excited about this post. I did someone else's makeup for the first time. I asked my best friend Monica or Mon as I call her, if I could do her makeup and she was brave enough to say yes lol. She's my first guinea pig. so before makeup I tell you what I did, here is a little background about her. She's been my friend for 6 years now. We met during freshman year in college. In general, she doesn't really wear makeup. The only makeup you will see her wear is a black eye liner on her upper and lower lash line, a cherry chapstick on her lips and thats it! She has beautiful skin so she doesn't even need makeup.

I created a smoky black eye makeup. I've always wanted to try this on her because I know it would compliment her pretty eyes. It made her eyes look sultry and sexy! For her cheeks, I used my NARS blush in Orgams because it goes great with anything! It's a pretty peachy pink shade with gold specs. I used a very light hand to apply this color because it's so pigmented. And for her lips, I used Mac lip stick in Velvet Teddy which is a natural matte nude shade. The eyes were dramatic so going nude for the lips was the safest way to go.

The finished look after it was blended with a fluffy blending brush. It looks so much better right?

The most difficult thing I had to do was curl her lashes. It took me awhile to curl them because she kept laughing lol. I even pinched her lid by accident lol. Sorry Mon ;P
