Fafi Giveaway

Last week, I announced the arrival of MAC’s new color collection inspired by the graphic expression of French graffiti artist Fafi. Since then, I’ve actually had an opportunity to play around with the products a little bit.

In my opinion, the two standouts of the collection are the paint pots and lip colors. The brightness of the colors are tempered by the textures – so you can be garish, if that’s the look you’re going for; but you can also apply with a lighter touch, and the shades are totally appropriate for day or the office.

Some other bloggers have criticized the packaging – instead of printing the Fafinettes directly on the lip glosses and lipstick tubes, the artwork is printed on stickers, which are wrapped around the packaging. If packaging is très important to you, then I suppose you could find fault. But the quality of the cosmetics is what matters most to me, and I was not disappointed.

Although I tried my best to capture the fabulosity that is Fafi, my camera can only do so much. I encourage you to visit your local MAC store or counter and experiment with the products.
