It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil

For the past few years, when it comes to eyebrow products, I have been in a monogamous relationship with Diorshow Brow Styler Ultra-Fine Precision Brow Pencil. I've never been brow endowed (the gene skipped me and went to my younger sister), and the Diorshow pencil has served me well. The only issue I ever had with the DiorShow was its staying power. 99% of the time, it's fine and the pigment stays put. But if it's sweltering and I start sweating, it doesn't last (literally) a hot minute.

So what's a sweaty, follicularly-challenged gal to do? Call up QVC, that's what.

You see, QVC sells a fabulous product from It Cosmetics called the Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil. It's truly universal because it transforms and adjusts to all brow hair colors. Apply lighter, softer strokes to match lighter color hair, including blonde and silver. Press harder for darker hair, including medium brown to black. As a finishing touch, lightly brush through brows with the spooly brush for a natural, polished look. A full brow-lift instruction diagram is included with each pencil.

The oval shaped tip creates a natural looking, believable brow and is perfect for both thin and thick brows. And an exclusive "Brow Enhancing Complex" uses a patent-pending blend of cutting-edge ingredients to target the look of brow hair loss, and helps restore your brow hair follicles - promoting the look of healthy hair growth and health.

But the best thing about this pencil is its staying power. It's water- and smudge-proof. So even if it's so hot that your face is melting off - like that evil dude from Raiders of The Lost Ark (left), your eyebrows will stay put.

And for every Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil sold, It Cosmetics gives one to Look Good...Feel Better, an American Cancer Society program that teaches female cancer patients beauty tips to look better and feel good about how they look during chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

While the product isn't exclusive to QVC, you get more bang for your buck buying from them. One Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil retails for $24, but at QVC, you can get two for $31.82...or one Brow Power Pencil plus a highlighting pencil for just $26.34.

Josie Maran Argan Slimline Lipstick with Gloss

I’m currently in love (okay, obsessed) with Josie Maran Argan Slimline Lipstick with Gloss. On one end, there’s a creamy and lipstick and on the other, there’s a super shiny, non-sticky, sheer gloss that just so happens to smell and taste like vanilla cupcakes.

Formulated with Josie's signature ingredient, Argan Oil, the product provides moisturizing coverage and is available in three pretty pink shades (I own Rosey, a dusty rose).  I’m crossing my fingers that more colors are in the works because I would add each and every one to my collection.

This double-ended multitasker is a makeup bag must have.
Josie Maran Argan Slimline Lipstick with Gloss ($25) is sold exclusively at QVC.

*A sample was provided by the brand for review.

Philosophy Gift of Grace 4 Piece Fragrance Collection: Holiday Beauty Gift Guide

You know the family member/BFF/co-worker who tells you how amazing you smell every time you wear your Philosophy perfume? Well, take the hint and properly introduce her to the scent by hooking her up with the Philosophy Gift of Grace or Love 4-Piece Fragrance Collection - available exclusively at QVC.

Last year, I wanted to buy my sister, Lauren (an Amazing Grace newbie), a gift set. I searched all over the Internet and in stores to find the most comprehensive collection at a low price point...and nothing even came close to this one. Lauren loved it, and I was so happy to share one of my favorite scents with my lil sis.

The Gift of Grace or Love 4-Piece Fragrance Collection (available in Amazing Grace, Pure Grace, and Falling in Love) features Philosophy's highest-concentrated eau de parfum fragrance plus hand cream, body lotion, and 3-in-1 shower gel or shower cream - all in full sizes! It also includes a bonus bar soap. Perfectly packaged, the set is ready for giving.

Purchased separately, the products would cost you $119. But on QVC.com, it's only $71. And today, it's on sale for the low, low price of $58.74!

Darac TourQuam 3-D Face Sculpting Brush, Nothing Compares 2 U

After using Darac's TourQuam 3-D Face Sculpting Brush, I have one thing to say to all of the other makeup brushes on the market: you should be ashamed of yourselves.

For applying powder products, nothing compares to the TourQuam brush. Nothing.

This Jetsons-esque tool has a magnet hidden in the handle. Because all powders have an iron oxide, magnetic base, this brush attracts the perfect amount of product. Which means no wasting your precious powders. And no more tapping and blowing on the bristles to avoid looking like a character straight outta Kabuki theater. So not necessary.

Seriously...even you unintentionally heavy-handed makeup junkies will be amazed at how this brush keeps your 'more is more' tendencies in check.

Lately, I've been using this brush in tandem with my LORAC TANtalizer Baked Matte Satin Bronzer and Fresh Freshface Blush Powder - and I can honestly say that my golden glow and flushed cheeks have never looked more natural.

Darac TourQuam 3-D Face Sculpting Brush, nothing compares 2 u!

Darac products are available at QVC and daracbeauty.com.

Living Proof No Frizz Debuts Shampoo and Conditioner!!!

I don't know who is in the running for this year's Nobel Peace Prize. But I'll tell you who should be - the people over at Living Proof.

Sure, they haven't ended any wars or found a way to mend the broken healthcare system in the U.S., but they have achieved the unthinkable. Women worldwide are finally at peace with their hair thanks to Living Proof's revolutionary No Frizz products.

Developed by a talented team of MIT scientists, No Frizz is a comprehensive collection of cutting-edge, humidity-resistant formulas that work for all hair types. And besides obliterating frizz, these products also manage to smooth hair without a heavy or greasy feel, impart lasting shine and softness, and repel dirt and oil so you can go longer between shampoos.

Ever since I started using the No Frizz styling products "frizz" has ceased to be a word in my vocabulary (except here, obv). I use No Frizz religiously and even take them to the salon with me when I'm getting me hair did. When Spoiled Pretty partnered with Living Proof for a giveaway, the winner wrote back - raving that these are products she'll use FOR LIFE. I mean, just read her review and tell me you're not convinced.

As if these styling products weren't enough of a contribution to society, Living Proof now adds shampoo and conditioner to its repetoire.

"We like to refer to these two products as a labor of love for our scientists," says CEO Rob Robillard. "When we first started introducing the No Frizz styling products to the press and to retailers out there, they kept saying — 'why don’t you have a shampoo & conditioner?' Then as all you fans out there learned how great the styling products were you too kept asking — why don’t you have a shampoo & conditioner? The answer was quite simple. We didn’t want to launch just any old shampoo and conditioner, we wanted it to be as revolutionary as our styling products. We wanted you to be blown away again."

These new daily care products wash away frizz and provide heat protection from tools like blow driers, curling irons and flat irons. The Humidity Blocking, Weightlessly Hydrating, Sulfate-Free Shampoo was developed with PolyfluoroEster and SLMI, a gentle, sulfate-free surfactant, to remove any trace of dirt or oil without stripping the hair. It promises to be the perfect choice for everyday cleansing for all hair types, including color-treated hair. Humidity Blocking, Weightlessly Hydrating, Shine Restoring Conditioner is the natural companion to leave hair soft, shining and hydrated without weighing it down.

Moisture Restoring No Frizz Leave-In Conditioner will soon be added to the No Frizz family. It is an ideal option for drier hair, incorporating PolyfluoroEster with lightweight glycerin as the key moisturizing component instead of heavy oils, a first for a leave-in frizz-fighting product.

No Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner are available now at livingproof.com. The entire collection will launch in September 2009 at Sephora and QVC.

And The Award For Best Smelling Shampoo and Conditioner Goes To 100% Pure

And the award for best-smelling shampoo and conditioner goes to 100% Pure.

[Applause]

Accepting on behalf of 100% Pure's Honey Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner are the honey, coconut milk, vitamins, and other good-for-your-hair ingredients that are responsible for the products' deeply moisturizing formulas. The 100% natural formulas are free of synthetic chemicals, artificial fragrances, chemical preservatives, sulfates, and other detergents that can strip or dehydrate hair. Instead, they're jam-packed full of hydrating, strengthening ingredients and protective antioxidants.

The Honey Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner's fragrance is sweetly tropical, with a hint of vanilla. Fans of the brand's Organic Virgin Coconut Nourishing Body Cream will want to eat up these deliciously-scented new additions to the 100% Pure family of products.

The consistency of the shampoo is on the runny side; so be sure to shake it up before dispensing into your cupped palm. The conditioner, on the other hand, is thick and creamy; I liken it to the McDonald's milkshakes that give you an aneurysm trying to suck them through a straw.

Both get the Spoiled Pretty seal of approval, for their ability to moisturize and soften tore up tresses.

100% Pure's Honey Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner are available exclusively on QVC.com.

QVC Exclusive: Prescriptives Vibrating Mascara!

I love QVC. For beauty shopping, it's not be as sexy as Sephora - but for deals and exclusives, it's tough to beat.

For example, Prescriptives has a new vibrating mascara called Prescriptives MotorEyes Instant Action Volume Mascara. With one turn of MotorEyes, the product promises to "instantly turn up volume, color impact, lift, and curl while turning down clumping, spiking, flaking, and application time."

Here's the kicker...the mascara is only available at QVC. And you won't be able to find it anywhere else (not even on the Prescriptives website) until April 15, 2009. Place your order now and it will ship on February 20, 2009.

Head on over to QVC to find out what other new and exclusive beauty products they have in store.

Hold The Phone...Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment Now Available In Spray Formula?

Ojon's miracle product, the Restorative Hair Treatment, is now available as a spray! But there's a catch...until June 2009, it's a QVC exclusive.

Right now, it's available as part of the Ojon Restorative Hair 4-Piece Collection with Bonus - available at QVC.com. For less than $55, you get: 3.8 oz Restorative Hair Treatment, 8.44 oz Ultra Hydrating Cleanser, 8.44 oz Ultra Hydrating Conditioner, 9 oz new Restorative Hair Treatment Spray, 2.5 oz Tawaka Rejuvenating Cream , comb and gift bag.

If you're familiar with the brand and own any of the above, it might not be worth $55 to get your hands on this new spray...unless your Ojon supply is low. But if you're new to Ojon and want to sample some of the brand's signature products, this is a good buy because, purchased separately, this collection would cost $107.

100% Pure Amuse Bouche Leaves Me Craving More

If you’re a foodie and/or a fan of Bravo’s Top Chef, you’re likely familiar with the term amuse-bouche. An amuse-bouche is a single, bite-sized hors d’Å“uvre - served to excite the taste buds, to both prepare the guest for the meal and to offer a glimpse into the chef's approach to cooking.

This culinary expression was the first thing that came to mind when 100% Pure sent me some one-use samples of their products. I fell hard and fast for the Organic Virgin Coconut Nourishing Body Cream, which worked wonders on my desiccated skin. The scent is so yummy fantastic that I thought to myself, “the world would be a better place if everything smelled exactly like this.” Even Mama Spoiled Pretty, who complains that my favorite scents are too cloying, said that Organic Virgin Coconut Nourishing Body Cream smells good enough to eat. Ironically, it doesn’t remind me, at all, of coconut…fresh baked oatmeal cookies is more accurate. Mr. Spoiled Pretty thinks it smells just like “buttery rolls, right out of the oven.”

Coconut milk cream, cocoa butter, vitamins, softening fruit oils, and organic virgin coconut oil sink into skin - softening and hydrating the hell outta your hide. But you know what’s not seeping into your pores? Icky ish like artificial fragrances, synthetic chemicals, toxic preservatives, petro-chemicals or any other toxins. 100% Pure is just that…finally, you can understand the label without needing a pesky medical degree.

So where was I going with this review? Oh, yes…amuse-bouche. The tiny packet of luxurious lotion left me wanting more - a full-sized bottle of the Organic Virgin Coconut Nourishing Body Cream, accompanied by the Organic Virgin Coconut Shower Gel and Body Scrub, specifically. I’m looking forward to future explorations of this brand, and I enthusiastically encourage you to do the same.

100% Pure products are available at QVC, Beauty.com, Bath & Body Works, and 100percentpure.com.

Hello, QVC? Yes…It’s Spoiled Pretty Calling For Kate Somerville

Last night, I did something I’ve never done before. I called QVC. Not to buy anything…just to tell Kate Somerville that she’s a rock star. The woman is so unpretentious and glowy, what beauty addict wouldn’t wanna chitchat and pick her brain a bit?

So after two rings, a friendly customer service rep answered the phone and asked what item number I’d like to purchase. I explained that I didn’t want to purchase anything - I just wanted to talk to Kate. All the while, I was unconsciously disguising my voice. Why? I have absolutely no idea. It’s just one of those stupid things you do without rhyme or reason…as if the woman on the other end of the line is gonna say, “Daneen…is that you?”

Anyway, the representative told me that – at that time – they weren’t taking testimonials, but kindly thanked me for calling QVC before ending the call.

I would have loved to converse with Kate. We could have bonded over our mutual fondness for exfoliation. I wanted to tell her that ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment is pure genius…that my mom thinks her Line Release Under Eye Repair is worth its weight in gold…and that I can’t wait to get my mitts on her new Oil-Free Moisturizer.

But who do they patch through to Ms. Somerville? Two crazy ladies who rambled on so long that they forgot what they were talking about. Typical. It’s just like the TV news – the on-the-scene reporter always interviews the eccentric woman with curlers in her hair or the man with the missing teeth who has nothing particularly relevant to say.

Gotta get me some of that moisturizer. I’ll report back when I do.

Good Hair Days Are Made Of This

I sure know how to pick ‘em…

So without having heard anything about Ojon’s new Rare Harvest Tunu Elastik Hair Tamer, I picked it up on a whim during a recent trip to Sephora. Ojon has yet to disappoint me, so I took a chance on this $25 leave-in hair relaxer/de-frizzing balm.

Here’s what the package promised:
* imparts a soft, flexible smoothness to all hair types
* naturally seals the cuticle to stay sleek
* eliminates frizz caused by humidity
* provides a moisture barrier
* formulated without alcohol and silicone
* perfect for all hair types - straight, curly, permed, or relaxed

Does it deliver? You betcha! I took the bottle to Erik, my hairstylist, when I went to the salon yesterday evening. We were both surprised by how smooth and glossy my hair was after blowdrying – and its gel/mousse hybrid texture doesn’t weigh my fine hair down. Best of all, it’s snowing/sleeting/freezing raining here in Philly – but you wouldn’t know it to look at my hair. Even one of my co-workers remarked this morning. My hair has been looking seriously jacked up for weeks…so I was super excited to get a compliment – you don’t even know. I was doing the happy dance. And I have Ojon (and Erik) to thank.

Bottom line: Go get this stuff right now. It’s $23.50 on QVC, but if you buy it at Sephora and you don’t like it for whatever reason, returning it is a breeze. But chances are you won't return it, cuz I know you're gonna love it!
