...because The BodyShop Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream works!

I've said in my previous posts that I have oily kin and a dry nose. My nose gets flaky and dry where it peels off on its own while the rest of my face is oily. Yuck! What a weird combo O_o . I've tried different moisturizers for my nose and they were good but the one that stood out the most is The Body Shop Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream. It not only prevented my nose from drying up, it actually got rid of the nasty flakes for good! It's pretty cool. I use it on my nose in the morning and on my entire face before I go to bed at night. No more dry and flaky nose yay! but eww..to oily skin ^_^

WHAT: According to the thebodyshop-usa.com
Best if you want to: Nourish and protect dry skin with a rich, silky cream that locks in moisture for long-lasting hydration.
  • Vitamin E and wheat germ oil help moisturize and condition skin while protecting against environmental aggressors and premature aging.
  • Community Trade organic olive oil, Community Trade shea butter, jojoba and grapeseed oils condition and moisturize skin.
  • A special wheat-derived ingredient provides a protective layer on the surface of the skin to help lock in moisture.
It's part of their Vitamin E Skincare line.
WHERE: You can purchase this at any The Body Shop store  or order it online. Click HERE

    PRICE: $20.00

PACKAGING: It comes in a small plastic container where you twist the top to open. There are sticker labels on top, side and bottom (where you can find the ingredients list).

ODOR: It has a hint of a perfume scent. It smells nice and it stays on your face for awhile. Be careful if you have sensitive skin.

TEXTURE: A cream that feels soft and silky against the skin. It can feel a little heavy if you put too much.

    AMOUNT: 50 ml 1.7 oz (48 g)

I use it everyday and, I'm almost done yay!  ^_^

It doesn't have any shimmer in it, which is great!

    PROS:
    • It does what it says. It really moisturizes the skin and it got rid of the flakiness on my nose ^_^
    • It has cool ingredients that benefits the skin.
    • It didn't break me out at all.
    • A little goes a long way.
    CONS:
    • The scent may be too much for other people. I personally like it.
    • 20 bucks can be expensive but I = it's worth it!

FINAL THOUGHTS: I purchased it with high hopes and it didn't let me down. I love products that does what it claims with no B.S. It worked and I will definitely re purchase. I highly recommend it to anyone with dry skin. LOVE it!!!

Vitamin E Eye Cream by The Body Shop

I always say it's never too early to use an eye cream. I'm not getting any younger and at 25 I need to put eye cream lol. I've been seeing few fine lines under my eyes that wasn't there before, yikes! I know it's part of aging but hey if i can some what prevent it by using an eye cream then why not.

I've been using the Vitamin E Eye Cream by The Body Shop for 3 weeks. I bought 2. One for me and one for my makeup freelance kit. I'm slowly building it. The sales lady recommended it to me because it supposedly does so many things. It claims that it helps reduce appearance of fine lines, puffiness and dark circles. And it's great for all skin type. Wow, sounds like a must have product.

WHAT: A moisturizing eye cream that helps protect the delicate skin around the eye area, reducing the appearance of fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth. Contains moisturizing shea butter and rose hip oil. (source: http://www.thebodyshop.com)

WHERE: At your local The Body Shop store. or their website http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com

    AMOUNT: 0.5 fl oz.

    PRICE: $17.00

    TEXTURE: milky cream

ODOR: There is a smell to it but I'm not sure what it is. It's not a bad smell. Friends have told me it smells like plastic but I don't think so.

Just use a few tiny dots under the eye area and blend. You don't need a lot.
This is my niece's eye lol.

    PROS:
    • It's really moisturizing. I love this product for that reason.
    • It prevents my concealer from caking up.
    CONS:
    • Maybe $17 for an eye cream may be a lot???
    • It doesn't reduce puffiness under the eyes. Just use ice.
    • My fine lines looks the same. I've used it for 3 weeks. Maybe I need to use it longer.
    • My dark circles looks the same. But then again, maybe I need to use it longer.
Final Thought: Overall this was an okay product. I still like the product even though there was more cons than pros. I love how it's really moisturizing under the eyes so its really a plus. I just don't like how it promises so many things. But like what I said, maybe I need to use it longer to see if it really works.

    Thanks for stopping by!!!

Review: Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion by The Body Shop

I should have done a review of this products a long time ago when I was using it. I finished the whole thing already and, I went back to my Skin MD moisturizer. I know it's still available at The Body Shop so I still want to do a review and share with everyone my experience.

I bought this around the Holidays of 2009 when they were having 50% off  along with the Vitamin E eye cream and Moisture Intense cream. I needed a moisturizer that I can use for my oily skin at the time and the sales lady recommended me the Tea Trea Skin Clearing Lotion. She said it has shine control that will help mattify my oily skin as well as skin clearing properties from the Tea Tree oil. Hey, it seemed pretty good so I bought it.

WHAT: Moisturizing and mattifying lotion hat hydrates skin and controls oil while helping to clear and prevent blemishes.
    • Lemon tea tree and Community Trade tea tree oil from Kenya contain properties that help fight blemishes and prevent new ones from forming.
    • Tamanu oil from Madagascar has a soothing effect and helps to calm irritation and redness.
    • Contains powders help mattify the skin and control shine (source: thebodyshop.com)
WHERE: Your local The Body Shop store or ONLINE

WHEN: I used it every day as my daytime moisturizer.

HOW: I applied with my finger tips on my entire face after cleansing and toning.

TEXTURE: very light and a bit watery.

SCENT: It really had a weird strong grassy smell but bothered me a lot. It was unbearable in the beginning but I was able to get used to it.

PRICE: $13 but some discount may apply if they have a promotion in the store or on-line.

    FINAL THOUGHTS:
I don't think I will be re-purchasing this product. I seriously had high hopes for it, but unfortunately it did not work too well on my skin. The strong grassy scent was such a turn off. The only reason why I still continued to use it because it did control the oil on my face fairly well. I used this product for a month and 2 weeks, every single day in the morning and only saw a slight disappearance of my blemishes. It wasn't enough to convince me that this product is good.

Oh and before I forget, stay away from this if you have extremely dry skin. It will make your dry skin worst than it is. It happened to my boyfriend when he went through my makeup kit and used it on his face lol. His face became ashy in an instant.

Guest Post: The Body Shop Metallic Eye & Cheek Palette

The following review is courtesy of guest blogger, Angela Showell. Take it away, Angela...

The Body Shop Metallic Eye & Cheek Palette #02 comes in a really pretty gold case - and from the front little window, I could see that the colors were right up my alley: golds, blue, and copper. I then decided to get a closer look by opening the case. It was extremely hard to open. I do have acrylic fingernails so they are a little long, but not even my stubby fingernailed husband could get it open on the first try! Eventually he got it, thus making this review possible!

The case has a mirror and long-handled, double sided applicator which was handy for the eyeshadow, but not so much for the bronzer. So, I broke outmy fluffy blush brush and got to work.

I applied the bronzer over my normal cream powder foundation (shout out to Neutrogena). It was a little too bronze for my winter pale-ness so I toned it down with a little more foundation blending. Next I went for my all over lid color. The palette came with 3 shades of gold (well, a light gold, a true gold, and a bronze) and one shimmery blue. I used the light gold as a base and then did the blue for my inner corner (it came out kind of green when mixed with the light gold) and blended in the copper for my outer crease. I used the applicator to do the blending instead of my normal brush, it worked out pretty well with a little help from my finger (the best blending tool anyway, your mom is right).

The eyeshadows stayed a nice color all day, with minimal creasing. Overall, I really liked this product. The colors are neutral enough that it could be your everyday standby.
