Levi's Perfectly Slimming Jeans
Levi's Petite 512 Perfectly Slimming Straight Leg Jeans have a fit that slims, smoothing tummy curves with innovative inside-pocket design and a fabric woven for superior stretch and recovery.
My midsection is significantly smaller than my hips, so I usually have a problem with a gaping waistband. But the cut of these jeans sits higher (but not so high as to veer into "Mom jeans" territory) and properly fits my curves. The dark wash also visually slims and gives the jeans a dressier look - which makes them versatile for day and night ensembles.
Oh...and did I mention that they're less than $45? In fact, you can snag a pair (like I did) at Macy's* for $32.99!
*The 512 style is also available in regular sizes.

Do You Smell What The Karan Is Cooking?

Cashmere Mist has been around since 1985, but I just discovered (and was seduced by) it this summer - when I picked up the Mini Deodorant/Antierspirant at Sephora. After using the deodorant for about a week, I found it impossible to live without the perfume. And I'm not alone - millions of women have also fallen under its spell; Cashmere Mist just happens to be the number four best-selling fragrance in the United States.
A few weeks after wearing the perfume religiously, I felt compelled to expand my personal Cashmere Mist collection, and I am now the proud owner of the Body Lotion, Shampoo and Conditioner.
This fall, Donna Karan celebrates the fragrance's 15th birthday and gives me yet another reason to praise my perfect timing: Cashmere Mist Luxe Edition Eau de Parfum, a modern, enhanced version of the original. "Cashmere Mist is the ultimate Modern Icon," Karan says. "For 15 years, it has been a worldwide passion - a soft, sensual indulgence for women to wrap themselves in year round. Cashmere Mist Luxe Edition adds a whole new level of luxury. It is my thank you to women for making Cashmere Mist what it is today."
Cashmere Mist Luxe Edition Eau de Parfum features heightened notes of Watery Elements and Bergamot, mingled with two Jasmine absolutes, Orange Flower, Ylang and Muget, enveloped by the creaminess of Moss, Blonde woods, Amber, Labdanum and Vanilla. Simply put, it's a saucier and more decadent version of the cult classic; wear the original during the day and spritz on the Luxe Edition for a night out, when you want to turn up the heat and turn on the charm.
The Cashmere Mist Luxe Edition collection consists of a 1 oz Eau de Parfum Spray ($48.00) and a 1.7 oz Eau de Parfum Spray ($70.00). It is available in Donna Karan stores, Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Sephora.

Change Clothes: Harajuku Lovers Fragrances Get New Wardrobe For Fall 2009
According to WWD, Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers quintet of fragrances will get a makeover come fall.
The five limited edition dolls will be bundled up in winter clothes and the collection is named Snow Bunnies.
"We brainstormed lots of ideas, but Snow Bunnies just felt and looked right, since it was coming out during the winter season," said Stefani, noting the scents remain the same. "I loved the idea of the girls going skiing, snowboarding, sledding and having hot chocolate. Every season we create new versions of the girls, so you’ll always see lots of changes over time. One of my favorite things about this collection is that the possibilities are endless," said Stefani. "The Harajuku Girls can go anywhere and be and do anything. We are always developing new artwork and graphics. The brand has an underlying sense of fun and whimsy and a Pop Art sensibility that is always evolving. Harajuku Lovers is like a never-ending art project!"
The Snow Bunnies will be priced at $30 per 10-ml. scent and will be available at Macy’s, Nordstrom, and Sephora. Stefani is also planning another Harajuku project. "I’m also working on a new costume and sterling silver jewelry line for Harajuku Lovers that is crazy cute," she said.

Mr. Spoiled Pretty's Review of Clinique Face Scrub For Men

So without further ado, here is a Q&A with Mr. Spoiled Pretty about his experience with Clinique Skin Supplies For Men Face Scrub.
DB: How do you use Clinique’s face scrub?
MSP: You put it on your face.
DB: No, I mean do you use it in the shower or at the sink?
MSP: In the shower. I don’t do anything at the sink except brush my teeth, wash my hands, or shave.
DB: Okay. So how do you apply it?
MSP: You smear it on your face and rub it in?
DB: You mean, like, massage it into your skin in a circular motion?
MSP: Yeah.
DB: Okay, so what does it feel like?
MSP: Like 160 grit sand paper, which is a good thing. I feels really, really good. It scraped off my face and made me feel like a new man.
DB: How would you compare it to other face scrubs that you’ve used in the past?
MSP: I used to use the Nivea face scrub and that was pretty good. But it’s not as high-quality as the Clinique face scrub. With the Clinique stuff you can tell that it’s actually doing something to your face.
DB: Is that it?
MSP: The only thing bad about it is that you can’t use it every day because it would hurt too much. It might scrape your face clean off.
DB: But you’re not supposed to use it every day, Graham. With a serious face scrub like that, you should probably only use it a couple of times a week, max.
MSP: Says who?
DB: Says me. I’m a beauty expert, remember?
Clinique Skin Supplies For Men Face Scrub is available at Macy's, Nordstrom, Sephora, Clinique counters and clinique.com.

My Latest MAC Purchase: You'll Be Green With Envy

Today, after attending the Cashman & Associates Girls’ Day Out event, Mama Spoiled Pretty and I headed over to Macy’s for some extra innings of shopping. Mom was kinda working my last nerve, shopping up a storm, then asking me (aka telling me) to carry her heavy bags. But then she spotted a $180 Michael Kors dress - in my size - for $9. Can you even believe? So all was forgiven and Philadelphia has since been re-named the City of Motherly Love. Anyway, despite saving $171 on the dress, it still wasn’t my most satisfying purchase of the day.
Before mom and I headed for the petites department, we stopped at the MAC counter and had a ball playing with the makeup. At first, mom was all, “What do you need more MAC makeup for?” Obviously, I did not inherit my product addiction from my mother. But after watching me get all done up, thanks to the talented and knowledgeable MAC makeup artist Jillian, she too was bitten by the MAC bug. Jillian gave her a very sophisticated smoky eye and mom ended up buying both of the shadows Jillian used - Nehru (muted bluish black) and Knight Divine (black w/ silver pearl).
For my fabulous purchase (you’re going to be green with envy), watch the video:

This Valentine's Day, Michael Kors Spreads Love Around

This Valentine’s Day, indulge in the latest With Love, Michael Kors fragrance set. The set includes three different interpretations of the Michael Kors fragrance.
Michael Kors Very Pretty Eau de Parfum: Intense sparkling citrus and drenched coconut meshed with sheer white florals add a touch of femininity. Sensual vetiver and lush sandalwood create a sophisticated balance, resulting in an indulgent floral interpretation of the original Michael Kors fragrance.
Michael Kors Eau de Parfum: The first fragrance from Michael Kors re-invents the iconic tuberose. Balanced with spices, sensual woods and exotic incense, Michael Kors Eau de Parfum is a modern, luxurious, sensual fragrance.
Michael Kors Eau de Toilette: A luminous, lighter way to wear the original signature Michael Kors fragrance. The concentration of the rich, creamy florals enhanced by sensual woods and incense has been softened, resulting in a beautiful new interpretation of classic tuberose.
The fabulous trio comes in rollerballs, and packaged in a glossy white box with a cutout heart.
The convenient roller balls are travel-friendly, ideal to wear everyday and everywhere.
With Love, Michael Kors is now available at macys.com - and will be sold at Bloomingdale’s and Michael Kors boutiques, beginning February 2009.

Back From My Trip To Macy's - Allow Me To Vent

So I'm at Macy's, trying to get some separates for work and for Fashion Week, which is creeping up on my at an alarming speed. Anyway, I've got an armful of stylish possibilities and I'm in a good mood because there's an awesome sale going down - and just as I walk into the fitting room, I hear a shriek behind me. "Ma'am...ma'am. Excuse me, ma'am...wait! How many items do you have there?!?!?"
I turn around to face the bane of my existence - the fitting room police. I told her I had seven pieces. Then she told me that Macy's only allows six garments in the room, at a time. She further explained that I had to leave one garment on the rack outside of the changing rooms and that I must hang up everything after I was finished and place them on the aforementioned rack before exiting the fitting room.
Now, I realize that this is store protocol - but way to put me through the ringer, lady, when I only had one extra garment. And while I'm on the topic, I'm gonna tell you how I really feel...
I HATE THE FITTING ROOMS AT MACYS!!!
I'm sure that there are some very nice people who monitor the dressing rooms at Macy's - but, unfortunately for me, the dressing room patrol at my local Macy's stores are the evilest people ever. Everytime I've got an armful of clothes, they're hawk-eyeing me...just waiting for me to make a break for the fitting room, so that they can unload their attitude on me.
And even when I only have a few pieces in my hands, once I get near the dressing room, I'm stopped and given a hard time. It's gotten so bad and I've become so annoyed that I usually wait until the coast is clear and all salespeople are out of sight before making a beeline for the fitting room (while the Mission Impossible song runs through my head). But 75% of the time, I'm apprehended...and harrassed about hanging up my clothes when I'm done.

I mean, dang. I only shop at two Macy's. And the petites department is the size of a shoe box. You'd think they'd know me by now.
Is it so wrong to want to be left alone? I've got money to spend in your store and all I'm asking is to be allowed to enjoy the shopping experience without having some saleslady go all apesh*t on me.
So for all of you heffas who are trashing the fitting rooms like you're some sorta rock star - and ruining the fun for the rest of us...well, quit it. Learn some manners, or I'm going to send Mama Spoiled Pretty after you.
The only thing I don't hate about the Macy's dressing room is the price checker thingy by the fitting room door. I actually love that. I love learning how much money I'm gonna save, without having to do math. Yay, price checker things!

Creme-a-licious!

When they release a new collection, the kind folks at MAC usually send me a sampling of goodies. The care package whets my appetite, and then I head to the MAC store/counter to pick up more beauty treats. But I was so jonesing for the new Cremesheen collection, I couldn't help myself. I totally jumped the gun and bought myself Speak Louder (clean poppy blue pink) to satisfy my craving.

Lustre used to be my favorite MAC lipstick finish. Today, Cremesheen might just have taken the title. Like Lustre, Cremesheen is somewhat sheer with a beautiful sheen...but the consistency is creamier (hence the name) and the color is more amplified.
Robin, the wonderfully helpful makeup artist at Macy's midtown Philadelphia store, suggested that I top Speak Louder with Lustreglass in Pinkarat (soft-toned pink with gold pearl).

I have to admit, it was an impulse buy. But seeing how delicious Pinkarat looks on its own proved to me that an impulse purchase can be a sound investment.

The Internet Gods Hate Me

I have been working myself into a tizzy trying to figure out a way to work around the problem...but my schedule is just so damned busy - and I'm in an unfamiliar land - so, as you can imagine, it is quite difficult. Damned near impossible (and vexing), if I can be perfectly frank.
I so want to tell you about my trip to Estee Lauder headquarters. Or the convo I had with Bobbi Brown about Michelle Obama's eyebrows. Or the tete-a-tete I had with the mane maestro, Mr. Ted Gibson. Or last night at this Macy's where I interviewed Tommy Hilfiger and the face of new cologne, Tommy Dunn. Or the ultra-exclusive event (nine bloggers, including yours truly) at the Chanel showroom that I left early, so that I could go retrieve my tore-up computer before catching Amtrack back to Philadelphia.
I really wish I had the time and the means to dish right this second, but I'm gonna figure this out - if it's the last thing I do. So bear with me. You know what they say about patience being a virtue, and good things coming to those who wait. Keep checking back...I'm gonna give you the delicious deets just as soon as I can.
Hopefully, the Internet gods will stop messing with me and cut me some slack once I get back home.
Love ya, and we'll chat again soon!

Ken Paves Healthy Hair Boost Up Color Drops

Boost Up Color Drops can be used to extend salon hair colorings and keep color fresh – or to instantly brighten, darken or add warmth to your regular hair color. In addition to its color enhancing properties, the product also moisturizes, invigorates, and conditions and replenishes lost protein. The best part? One shampoo and it's back to the old you. "It's like cosmetics for your hair," Paves says.
Boost Up Color Drops are available in six shades: Beige, Black, Brown, Honey, Platinum and Red.
Get a .96 oz bottle for $39.95. Or purchase the Color Booster Explorer Kit from HSN (which includes a full-sized bottle of the Boost Up Color Drops plus shampoo, conditioner, shine serum and hair spray from Ken Paves' new Healthy Hair line) for the same price. This is a no-brainer.
Healthy Hair products are also sold at Henri Bendel. And sometime soon, you'll see this line popping up at Beauty.com, Macy's, Ulta, and fine salons near you!

Hanae Had Me At Hello

This past weekend, I took a trip to the mall…shout-out to KOP (you Philly gals know what I’m talkin’ about). I was in Nordstrom’s cosmetics department for, literally, three minutes before a salesperson had me sold on a bottle of Hanae Mori Butterfly Eau Fraîche.
I usually spend weeks hemming and hawing over a new fragrance, and only break down and buy it once I’ve decided that my pulse points can’t live without it. Well, with Eau Fraîche, it took me approximately 180 seconds to come to this conclusion.
As I reported a few months ago, the latest incarnation of my favorite fragrance is the lightest formulation yet; this variation is airier and perfect for warmer weather. The new top notes of sparking tangerine and grapefruit lend a summery kick, but the fragrance dries down to the familiar notes of red fruits, wild berries and summer woods.
Besides the intoxicating scent, what really convinced me to swipe the plastic was the price tag. A 3.4 oz bottle of this limited-edition fragrance is only $65.
Hanae Mori Butterfly Eau Fraîche is now available at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom*, Bloomingdale’s, select Macy’s and Sephora.
*Receive a Butterfly Body Lotion (0.2 oz.) and deluxe mini Eau de Toilette (0.04 oz.) with any $65 Hanae Mori purchase - online and in-store.

Fabulosity

Fabulosity (n): a state of everything that is fabulous.

Kimora Lee Simmons, entrepreneur extraordinaire, has turned her catchphrase into her newest money maker. Fabulosity - her third fragrance – is a fruity Oriental mix of Forbidden Fruit, Orange Blossom, Tiger Lily, Coconut Milk, Damask Black Plum, Chinese Osmanthus, White Patchouli, Tasmanian Honey, Amber, and Vanilla Absolute.
Damn, Kimora!
“Yes, I’m over the top, and yes, I’m unapologetic, and yes, I have really big diamonds, but I have an equally big heart and an equally big spirit,” she says.
I’m a sucker for pretty packaging, so it’s no wonder that I’m obsessed with the diamond-shaped bottle – which, if it were real, would equate to 3,000 carats.
The Fabulosity collection includes:
1.7oz Eau de Parfum, $45
3.4 oz Eau de Parfum, $55,
6 oz. Body Soufflé, $30
5.2 oz. Bath Diamonds (bath salts), $30

English Rose

Fuchsia lip color is the latest manifestation of Fall’s bold red lip. If you need convincing to try this trend, just check out the magenta mouth on Atonement star Keira Knightley.
To coat the entire surface of your lips, InStyle.com recommends smiling while you apply. “It stretches the lip, exposing every furrow to be filled with pigment.”

Have You Found The One?

Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue perfume has been a favorite among women since its debut in 2001. Its mixture of Sicilian Citron, Granny Smith Apple, White Rose, and Amber is nice, but I never understood the hype. So on a recent trip to Sephora, when a saleswoman asked me if I’d like to try Dolce & Gabbana’s new fragrance, The One…well, I almost took a pass. But, as a beauty blogger, I have an obligation to neutrally report beauty news. I’m glad that I took one for the team because The One is warm, sensual, and sweet – just like we always dreamed ‘the one’ would be.
“The top notes radiate a vibrant luminosity, with a sun-touched citrus, while warm fruity notes of luscious lychee and succulent peach add to the delight. The passionate heart evokes an exploding femininity, with an opulent floral soul, creating a distinct, audacious signature. An unexpected hint of plum glows as the base finally blooms with luscious allure into the lasting warmth of vanilla and sweetened ambery-musk notes.”
The One is available at Amazon.com, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Sephora.
