NARS Sheer Glow Foundation Plus Orgasm Illuminator Equals Perfection
Yesterday, my boo took me out for breakfast. As we sat across the table from each other, Graham kept gushing about my complexion. "Your skin looks amazing. Really, you're glowing...it looks so fresh and healthy." That's when I really started beaming, as Mr. Spoiled Pretty throws around compliments like manhole covers (his euphemism, not mine).
So what's my secret? Unfortunately, this time, it had nothing to do with the pregnancy hormones. This glow was a gift from NARS. A few weeks ago when I was in NYC for Fashion Week, I had an opportunity to meet with the NARS team - and I got color matched by James Boehmer, NARS International Lead Makeup Stylist. NARS gifted me with their Sheer Matte and Sheer Glow foundations in Cadiz (medium-dark with caramel and red undertones) - which was a PERFECT match, by the by.
Anyways, so my glow yesterday was the result of the Sheer Glow Foundation mixed with the new Orgasm Illuminator. Here's the recipe: mix 2 parts foundation with 1 part Orgasm Illuminator, and apply with a brush or sponge (I recommend the beautyblender). Then go somewhere where your beauty can be truly appreciated, and wait for the compliments to start flying.
Glo-oh-ow get 'em, girl.
PS - I want to take this opportunity to give a big shout out to NARS for their wide range of foundation shades. Far too often, women with deeper complexions find themselves forgotten by makeup brands. Not so with NARS. I'm so glad to have found this foundation. I encourage you to go to your nearest NARS counter or Sephora store and get color matched too. I guarantee you won't be able to leave empty-handed.

The best styling method for naturally curly, unruly, or thick hair might just be the carefree updo. This style is almost effortless and simplistic in its basic technique of randomly pinning up long tresses of hair. The hair can be curled or twisted and pinned randomly to create a stunning look that oozes beauty.
The Tiara Alternative
If tiaras are not in your future, even for your wedding day, hair vines can be the perfect option for a stylistic look. A few crystal hair vines carefully placed in your hair can set it apart for the stunning look that you are hoping to create. Less is actually better when it comes to hair ornamentation. Don‘t overdo it.
The Loose Braid
A loose braid is an excellent way to show off long tresses that vary in coloring. This long styling technique has been around for ages, but you can create a special and unique look with the hair ornamentation that you elect to use. In fact, each loosely joined braid can be adorned with an identical snippet of finery.
The Retro Look
In order to maximize on a retro look in a wedding hairstyle, you need long tresses of hair that can be thick, fine, or anything in between these. This style utilizes the half up and half down styling trend. A portion of the hair is swept back and up so that it follows the cheekbones and shape of the face. The remaining hair is left to hang down beneath the updo portion. For a truly retro look, use a wide headband to adorn your hair.
The Modern Birdcage
For something different, brides can wear the modern version of the birdcage, a classic twenties style head ornament. The modern wedding day version is crafted from a wide band of fabric that wraps around the forehead and brow of the bride. The bride‘s hair can be long, short, or medium length. Typically, the fabric is adorned with flowers off to one side.
The Chignon
Pulling your hair back and securing it up in a chignon opens up a few possibilities for ornamentation. Allowing a few locks to hang in the front will soften the severity of this look. You can use tiny tendrils, loose curls, or soft waves. Plus, hair jewelry makes a stunning appearance on this type of hairstyle. Try a glittering tiara at the top of the chignon or even higher up on your hair.
The Twisted Bun
The classic bun is definitely a nice hairstyle for a wedding. Adding a bit of a twist to it will add a fresh touch that is appreciated and admired. Place the bun low and in the traditional center or place it asymmetrically. The twist goes on both sides of the bun and throughout for a clever look. This style works well with medium or long hair lengths as well as short hair lengths and the implementation of an extension.
The Tease
This style is perhaps best with long tresses of curly or wavy hair. Tease your hair for fuller volume, allowing it to hang down. Use gorgeous hair clips to secure your hair at strategic locations that show off your facial features.
The Sweep
The sweep maximizes on volume and sweeps the hair off to the side or back, depending on the bride‘s tastes. Long, loose curls add a soft, romantic touch to this hairstyle. Hair jewelry can be used to secure the sweeps with a bit of sparkle and dazzle.
The Short Updo
For those brides with short locks, an updo is still a viable possibility. A few hair clips, bobby pins, or barrettes can be strategically placed to lift the hair up and back from the face. It‘s best to add a bit of volume to the roots of the hair first by applying some mousse and then blow drying the hair upside down.
The Unsettled Updo
As brides clamor more and more for something unique, hairstylists have come up with a variety of less–styled updos. Each time, the created look is somewhat different than the one before it. The updo is loose, unstructured, and randomly put together.
Lift It Up
Before any hairstyle, you can add a bit of lift and volume to your hair. Simply apply a bit of your favorite mousse to your towel–dried hair. Blow dry your hair upside down once the mousse is applied to lift your hair up at the roots.
Celebrity Hairstyles in 2009 pictures
Hair experts and hair stylists never find it amazing when the customers come with secret catalogs of their favorite celebrity. Celebrity hairstyles provide the maximum inspiration to teens and young ones about new hairstyles. Fashion magazines frequently publish the photographs of super models and celebrity, which makes it easier for the fans to copy the latest celebrity hairstyles trends. Celebrity fashion magazines regularly come out with cover page and full center blow up page with Katie Homle’s bob, Kellie Pickler’s cool short haircut, and Carrie Ann’s long hairstyle.
Long hairstyles with blond color could be a great hairstyle for everyday glamorous look. It is simple and looks great. People always wonder about Katie Holmes and her cute bobs. However, it would come as a surprise if her most favorite bob disappears from the radar of celebrity hairstyles in 2009. Gossip columns, social parties, Internet chat rooms and websites are the best places to get current reviews on the celebrity hairstyles in 2009.

A water bottle never looked this good ^_^
The shape of the bottle is nothing too interesting. Its the same water bottle from the Beverly Hilton hotel. On the other hand, the label is sooo pretty! It has fashion icons Claudia Schiffer, Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Loren in black and white photos. Oh yeeeaaah...Sophia Loren is pretty much the hottest person on earth. Maybe not so much now that she's old but she's still beautiful.

Look What I Recently Rescued From Sephora
I used to be that girl who wouldn't dare leave the house barefaced for a night out or a special occasion. I just couldn't get away with it. Now, not only has my complexion drastically improved, but I also have that fabled pregnancy glow...and I don't want to cover it up with the full coverage foundation I have in my beauty arsenal.
So last week, I decided to pay my little friend, Sephora, a visit. Mama needed some new makeup.
I ended up purchasing:
Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in Tan
Laura Mercier Undercover Pot in 4
Lancôme Hypnose Drama Mascara
At $42, Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer is pretty pricey. But is just so happens to be the best tinted moisturizer I have ever used in my entire L-I-F-E. And Laura gets big props for the wide range of shades. Can I get a hallelujah, brown girls?
Though I've been getting more sleep lately, I've started getting dark circles under my eyes - which I never had before. The shadows beneath my eyes were detracting from my glow, so those suckers had to go. I bought Laura Mercier's Undercover Pot because after spending an hour testing almost all of the concealers at Sephora, this one reigned supreme. Undercover Pot is a travel friendly pot with two amazing concealers: Secret Camouflage (oil free and stays in place all day long to cover blemishes, scars, and imperfections) and Secret Concealer (the emollient formula combats dark circles and allows for a smooth application in the sensitive eye area). The pot also includes Translucent Loose Setting Powder, which adds a velvety finish.
The Lancôme Hypnose Drama Mascara was a re-purchase. I just cannot be without this product. It is my mascara soulmate. I'm sure my friends at Lancôme would have replenished my stock; they're aware of how much I adore Hypnose Drama, but I didn't have time to wait. My old one was, well, old and I needed a new tube stat.
In the above pic, I'm wearing another of my new favorite products: Hourglass Cosmetics' new Prodigy Lipgloss. Hourglass sent me a sample a few weeks ago, and it has been a staple in my handbag ever since. I love the sleek packaging and non-tacky texture. If you're one of those girls who loathes a sticky lip, you are going to LUVRE this gloss. It come in six gorgeous shades, but "Legend" shade is my fave...it's like my natural lips, except 100% sexier. It is also available at Sephora.
All I Want To Wear Is Trance
I'm also dangerously in love with Lianne's Trance nail polish from Ginger + Liz. It's #1 on my shopping list right now.
All I want to wear is...all I want to wear is Trance!
Red Door Spas Blogger Lounge at New York Fashion Week
Earlier this month, when I was in New York for Fashion Week, I got my hair did at Red Door Spas Blogger Lounge at the W Hotel in Times Square. My friend (and Fashion Week roomie, above), Lianne, partnered with Red Door Spas to create space where bloggers could stop - between shows, meetings and events - and relax, recharge (phones too) and get all gussied up.
Thanks to Zahir Zihani, Creative Director of the Red Door Spas, and his team (including the adorable and amazingly talented Billy Dee Williams, who did my hair), every gal left there with head-turning hair. Forget reporting from backstage...we looked like we were ready to sashay down the runway.

Beauty Product of the Week: Bust Lift
What did you think? I don't have brown splotches on my chest (yet!), but I am prone to having pink blotchy skin (sexy!). The skin on my decolletage is also prone to dryness, so using a cream daily can only improve things.
The cream is pink and smells lotion-y. Crappy description I know, but it does smell like a high-end skin cream. It absorbs well into my skin and the whole application process is pleasurable (it's a twice daily booby rub, so what's not to like!?).
My skin is still a bit blotchy, but it feels better. The texture seems smoother, more even. I am not entirely sure if the skin is any firmer yet, but it's not any worse than when I started.
The final verdict? Not bad. I am only into week 2 of my 4 week trial, but so far, so good. Regardless if it's this cream or something else, I think adding a twice daily decolletage cream is going to be part of my new beauty regime.

...must use an EYE CREAM!
An eye cream is a moisturizer specifically formulated for the eye area. It won't damage or ruin the soft tissue around the eyes or cause irritation. A lot of the creams contains ingredients with anti-aging benefits (green tea) and will reduce wrinkles (retinol, caffein, vitamin C), puffiness and dark circles (vitamin K,hydroquinone) . It really depends on what brand you chose. They all have different claims and promises. But whatever problems you may have, just make sure you find the right one for you.
I have light dark circles and few wrinkles forming under my eyes (yikes!). It is nothing serious so I don't need an intense repair eye cream...yet. For now, I use Alba Green Tea eye gel. It has anti-aging and moisturing benefits that I need. This is some good stuff. I have been using the product for months and, I really like it. It feels soothing to the eye area and it wakes up my eyes in the morning because of its cooling sensation. It is very moisturizing and great under my concealer which prevents it from caking up. I only need a little bit and, it goes a long way.
