Why Barbie? Well, because of the bright fuchsia lips. Why bananas? Because of the yellow lids! And I thought it was a good name for this tutorial! =) Enjoy!
The combination of pink, mauve-pink and yellow can be hard to pull off sometimes, but hey, we don't go like this to work or school, now do we? :)
The steps are basically the same as in my landscape inspired tutorial, but this time I've used a more cool toned yellow on the lid and replaced the red with pink. Also, the big difference here is made by the bright Barbie pink lip.
So to start off, I added on my lid my Dars white base, to bring out the best in my not so very pigmented yellow. Then I applied my yellow eyeshadow from the Editt "Butterfly" trio on the whole lid, passing the crease just a bit. Then I placed a coppery burgundy color on my crease, smoking it out ("Queen" from Urban Decay). To darken it up a little, I applied just in the crease a more darker brownish-burgundy color (from Flormar), just like the one I used in my Barbie tutorial.
As for the lower lashline, I used a mauvie-pink color, which matched my lips quite well. I used a shimmery light pink color as my browbone highlighter, a black liquid liner on my upper lid and a dark brown pencil on my waterline.
The lips were pinked up by using a bright fuchsia lipstick from Wet&Wild, used both for the contour and for the filling. No lipliner was necessary, as the lipstick has a pointy edge-like tip, very practical. To spice up the lips, I added on the center of my lower lip and on the cupid's bow a shimmery gold eyeshadow. No gloss was used for this look.
Below you can see the eye look in flash, which brings out the shimmers and prettiness of the Flormar eyeshadow that I really love! ^.^
